Default Yamaha F150 Rough Idle after cruising

Hello,

2013 Yamaha F150 XA with ~2000 hrs

Starts great every time and idles perfectly at ~650-700 RPM, and runs very well at cruise RPM.

After cruising and returning to IDLE throttle while still in Forward Gear, it sputters and has a rough idle but never dies. If I do nothing, it returns to a normal idle in about 20 seconds.

If I go to neutral during the aforementioned rough idle, it immediately returns to a normal idle.

The ISC checks good with YDIS, and I get the "click, click, click" at shutdown. Ethanol Free gas + Ring Free all the time. New plugs annually. Thoughts? Thanks!

Winter blend fuel in hotter weather. Higher vapor pressure. Maybe some vapor lock.

eamakatu - Thanks, I'll run a compression test this weekend.

SeaCat22 - This behavior I describe has been ongoing since since the beginning of the 2020 fishing season. Should I check the fuel pumps? Any other recommendations? Thanks.

Had a similar problem but mine stalled when shifting gears.

It was the throttle position sensor.

Op checks complete:

1. Compression Tested Cylinders 1,2,3 and 4 --> 185, 185, 183 and 185 PSI, respectively.

2. ISC "Active Test" increased RPM from IDLE for 2 seconds, and then back to ~700 RPM (normal IDLE)

3. TPS checked good. In Neutral: 0.708 v (spec is 0.703 V) and 0.2 deg (spec is 0.1 deg). At WOT: 4.048 V (spec is 4.033 V) and 83.5 deg (spec is 83.2)
Exercised Neutral to WOT several times, and had readings within a couple mV.

4. No faults reported in the YDIS Data Logger

Any other thoughts? VST? One of the inline fuel filters? Thanks.
