I found a used 2019 400hp Verado with 250 hours for $25k. Digital controls. I presently have twin 2000 200hp efis on my 2000 Proline 2700 Sportsmsn.
I’ve been wanting to replace with four strokes. I presently mostly fish the lower Ches Bay and inshore/offshore 30mi with the 60 to 70 mi run offshore maybe once or twice a year. I’d like to hear opinions if I should pull the trigger or wait for a low hour used set of 200 or 225 Mercs or maybe Suzuki’s.
I do have a concern about weight but my boat did have a twin Merc 250hp XS option when new. I think they weighed about 475# per.

That is a little high in price for the Verado.
It is a good engine but I think you will disappointed. I would say wait to find a nice pair of newer used v6 225hp Mercury Four Strokes. The price will close to that of the 400hp.
The 3.0 liter Optimax was about 550lb each.
