Default Sportsman 267 TE question

Im trying to make a decision between a sportsman 252 and a sportsman 267. I normally fish offshore but now I have 2 small kids will be fishing inshore and offshore. I would assume that the ride quality would be better on the 252 in a chop, but what I would really be concerned about is waves coming over the bow of the 267 if you were to get caught in bad weather or going through a inlet. I would appreciate any feedback from personal experience with the 267. This is a large investment for us and we want to check as many boxes as possible.

Freeboard keeps small kids in the boat. As a guide I love the layout of the 267 but for boating with small kids regularly I would go with the 252. I have been on my buddies 252 and it was a nice family boat. A friend has the 267 but I havent had the pleasure of fishing on it, only along side of it A LOT. Both are very nice

I have ran both boats and here is my opinion. The 252 has a really nice layout with awesome head. Dive door and awesome seating forward and aft for family. The 267 rides like a much bigger boat. It will eat up chop and is good both offshore and inshore. The head sucks but the positive I believe outweigh the negatives. It does have a smaller fuel tank and that has to be factored in. The one I rode had the 425 and was a beast underway but very thirsty. If you can manage the ponies a great boat

I have heard some say that the 227 rides better than the 232. You wouldnt think so but they swear by it. I appreciate the feedback. That really helps

If you have kids you'll want the 252

I can attest to 227 riding better than the 232, but..... I took a couple waves over the bow in the 227 in a summer pop up storm. Wasn't fun.

267 Is a bad ass boat. Think of what type of fishing you'll do when kids are a little older. They might prefer offshore.

252 is nice. Almost bought one, but wouldn't fit on the side of the house. Only thing I wasn't a fan of on the 252 was the batteries in the bilge

Good luck!

Thanks guys for all the info. 267 seems to be the fit if we are doing inshore and offshore from what Im hearing. Wish it had a little more rise on the bow and I think it would be the perfect boat.
