I deal with larger units 6-10 gpm. The real “power” and cleaning comes from the combination of gpm at psi. So 3 gpm at 4000 psi will pale in comparison to 4 gpm at 4000 psi. So if you are wanting the most cleaning power get the unit with the most gpm at 3600-4000 psi.

get the pump specs and see exactly what it is rated at not just what the stated volume abs pressure is. When looking at larger volume you need to make sure you have adequate volume from your water source if not toy will need a make up tank.

no matter what volume you go with make sure you get the appropriate nozzle size. Nozzle size is often over looked and it critical in getting the most our of your system. Don’t just go to Lowe’s and buy a pack of nozzles. Go to northern tool or better yet go to your local pressure washer supply and repair shop and have them get you set up.

Look at Northern Tool for one. I bought one in 2005 after Katrina and it is still going strong. Starts 1st or 2nd pull every time (Honda engine). Cat Pump 4 GPM & 4000 psi.
