That sort of thing happens to everyone a few times in life. When it happens to me I just think of how much it costs a lot of guys to get divorced, then I think life is good after all.
Chalk it up to being human! If you never went out boating, this would never happen, but then life would be boring! Goes with having fun.

Two types of pilots - those who’ve landed gear up, and those who will.
hope the boat’s ok

Don’t beat yourself up. Shhht Happens to all of us. Backed into my shop with truck door open. Folded door completely back towards front. Vehicle doors don’t usually do to well when they open 180 degrees. 🙄

Momentary lapse of concentration. Funny thing is the T-Top didn't even get a scratch. +1 for quality construction. The property manager "thinks" their door guy can fix it. I'm not so sure. Took me two hours to hammer it back in place so I could roll it up and get the boat out.
Got an offshore trip planned for tomorrow. I'll be damned if a little thing like knocking my shed door off is going to get in the way of that. At least I have my priorities in order.

Always open it all the way even if you have no intention to pull the boat out.
It's either fully open or fully closed and locked.
I hope I can remember my own advice...
It's good to hear the boat is ok!

I had a yard guy that rented from me a few years ago. He bitched about how hard his door was to roll up so I got sick of listening to him and replaced the door. SOB did the same thing to that brand new thousand dollar door. I could not believe it.

Shit happens
Two types of people
Them that admit it
And them that lie
Move on
But around my neighborhood, be prepared to hear crap about it for a while

Thing is, the shed faces a busy highway. It's a great shed because it has straight access in and out. I always keep the door opened only enough to walk in and out of because I'm always worried that someone will notice the boat from the highway. I remember once this same truck came up and down the road slowly. I couldn't help think they were scoping me. Boat thefts being what they are I was just being cautious by keeping the truck parked and the door opened to only the roofline of the truck. Today I got doubled up because there is a great ice vending machine directly across the highway. Normally I pull in and load up on ice in the truck bed and then drive over to the boat and get the main fish box loaded.
Today, I pulled into the ice machine and it had a sign that said "bill changer broken, use only coins" WTF! I don't have a bank roll of coins, I have bills. That started the brain whirling. Where am I getting ice now?
The rest is history. I'm pretty sure the door is toast, so after we get back on Friday I'll start double checking my insurance policies to see if this type of debacle is covered in some way or another. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. In the mean time, does anybody have any idea what a 15' high roll door like this goes for?

Got that beat in spades.
19 years old. Parked in my parents driveway and my dad's car was parked in back of me. Dad and I got into a pissin' match and I abruptly walk out with intention to leave. Got in my car, put it in reverse, and backed into his car.
I had to go in and tell Dad what I did. Ate LOTS of crow that night.
