At rated WOT RPM, if propped correctly. 😀

As to the boat speed, much more information needed. e.g. prop type and size, boat specifics, position of anti-ventilation plate at WOT, trimmed out for max performance, load in boat, etc.

If this boat is new to you, how did it perform on the sea trial before you purchased it?

More variables needed, like what hull? , what prop?, what rpm? at 54 mph? yanno some basic stuff like that.
setback?, jack plate? what hole are you mounted? for some fine tuning and tweaking.

Need to post a pic of your wife. Once we see that I'm sure we can figure out your boat/motor combo should run.

Sounds about right to me. There could be a little to gain if your not hitting your max rpm at wot.

Need to know what boat you have. If you are running a 21 you either have a very heavy boat or you are underpropped.
My 20 foot glass bass boat will run in the mid 80's with a 200 but its lighter than most bass boats and designed for speed.

I agree we need to know what boat he has. My experience is aluminum bass boats dont have the design that glass bass boats do and they dont normally ran as fast.
