Default When will boats go on sale?

Once (if) covid ever ends, I'm assuming a lot of people who picked up boats over the past 6 months will dump them and start vacationing in Europe, Caribean etc again theoretically flooding the market with inventory. In addition to that, once this boating season ends in the northeast and mid Atlantic (which it has), people are going to get tired of making a big boat payments and not using the boats plus the fall winterization bills that will start to come in after the holidays (which they didnt budget for).

Understanding a vaccine is still in it's infancy in regards to distribution logistics and people actually wanting to take it, it could be another covid(y) summer in 21'. Maybe the winter/spring of 22' will be the buying opportunity?

I heard the official best price dates will be 02/01/2021 till 03/14/2021. During that time used boats will be 36% off. New boats in inventory will be 45% off. Very reliable source. Paying with bitcoin should save an additional 10%

Just wait for fuel prices to spike. I bought a turnkey 23' 1988 hull with 140 twins for 4k in 2013 when fuel was stupid expensive. Lucky for me, fuel promptly dropped soon after and stayed low for 4 or 5 years and I ran that boat up and down the coast, up to 55+ miles out until I sold that boat for more than what I paid for it.

Going to be awhile if not worse. Supply is low on new and people overfinanced so prices will stay high

Once the Biden policy changes, tax increases, green new deal and new lockdowns tank the economy the boat market will mimic 2008-2009. I would guess back half of 2021.

If all that happens do you think you'll have money in your pocket to buy another boat?

This is a fact. Could you also provide exact dates of the next recession please? Thanks.

Boats are always on sale. It is just the prices that fluctuate.

I have seen an early sign softness in both used car and used boat market about two weeks ago.
so my guess is by the end of January we should see some bigger drops.

I think the softness is just related to the time of year. Many boating seasons are over especially in the North. Usually in Mar or April the boating season begins in full swing here in Fl. Next year who knows but if the economy tanks yes boats will be less but will you have the funds for a boat. Most people don't at that point.

Prices will go down just like they did last time we had (a recession, high gas prices, a new President, a war, alien invasion, fill in the __).

Oh that’s right...... Boat prices have NEVER gone down.

Not sure why everyone keeps “predicting” something that’s never happened before.

May they “rise less quickly” when manufacturers get back to full swing and Covid is over? Sure. But go down? Highly doubtful.

Inflation is not going away. Especially with the Fed and new President’s plans.
