Default Stolen Scarab BOLO

I'm helping out a sister agency with a boat that was stolen either Monday night or Tuesday morning. The boat is a 35' Scarab stolen out of Northern Utah. It was last seen Eastbound on I80 heading towards Wyoming. If seen please contact your local LEO agency. Its listed on NCIC. Please PM me as well. Thanks for your help.

It's been found!! It was found abandoned near Park City. I think the people might have rethought how hot of an item they had. Thank you for everyone for keeping an eye out for it. Now hopefully the thief will be captured. They have some pretty good leads.

Might want to post this also on the Great Lakes forum. Heading east from northern Utah through Wyoming might be headed for the Great Lakes area.

Just to keep this at the top- that is a lot of lonely road out there. Should be pretty easy to spot if the word is out.

Yup, there can't be too many of them going down those roads.

Thanks for keeping an eye out. I can't imagine why someone would steal something so unique and think they'd get away with it for long. The internet has made the country pretty small. I'm confident it will turn up eventually.

Could it be Caribbean bound?

No doubt they're looking for a place to wrap it. Wonder how many shops up north that do that kind of work.

Very distinct boat and trailer combo, hopefully for the owner it is found before it gets too messed up.

Most Likely you get it back quickly in one piece,. which is what i hope happens..

Or, down the road, Boat and trailer recovered without engines..

Good Luck

Maybe the owner will get a free wrap job out of it! I cross posted this over at Offshoreonly and the Scarab and Wellcraft groups on Facebook.

Adding some info....This boat is a 1991(?) Wellcraft Scarab 34 Excel. The glass on the windshield has been wrapped over. Below is a sister ship without the wrap and it looks completely different........but same model.

This is crazy. A boat like that should stand out like a sore thumb in Utah or Wyoming. Can't believe someone would try to transport that any substantial distance after stealing it.

I wonder if it could be hidden within a semi-trailer? Hopefully these thieves aren't that bright.
Good luck in finding it. I'll keep an eye out for it here in Montana.

Given the location, I wonder if it's stashed somewhere in a barn that would usually hold farm equipment. Maybe it's closer than you think, and they are laying low before transporting it. Maybe painting it professionally or even shrink wrapping it before moving it 1000's of miles away. That's got to be a unicorn in that area of the country, no?

I wonder if the trailer had a mechanical issue pop up?

That is 100% awesome! I'm sure those idiots left a plethora of evidence behind. Find those MOFO's and sweat them hard.
