Default What the heck is this?

My buddy recently purchased a Luhrs 380 open and it has this padded little seat....seems like in an odd position to be a seat....just seems weird. Anyone know the story behind such a well built toad stool?

I need to see an answer to this before I can move on with my day.

It's for warming up umbrella rigs. Lay them over the top and it heats the wire to impart more life-like movement when you deploy them. Too big for an older style GPS receiver.

Padded swivel stool for watching baits? Pad for raising the engine room hatch to protect the hardtop from the helm chair?

Those are my guesses.

I think your buddy who purchased the boat is going to have to ask the previous owner.

Someone has gone to a lot of trouble to install a seat for watching baits. The cooler top would be too low to see the baits, and sitting on the bench seat along the port side would make it difficult to quickly grab a rod.

Maybe some sort of accessibility item? If sitting on the seat next to it, can you rest your arm on it?

There is a switch somewhere that turns it on. It will be the wife's next best friend when it vibrates. It's a deal maker when the wife is on the fence.

I am leaning toward you last guess.....that makes sense to me...but on second thought that part does not come up when you raise the engine cover.....darn! thought we had it.

Yep seems like the most reasonable answer.

Sneaky owner too. The guy watching the baits will fall off the seat if he falls asleep.

Maybe it’s for an old dog to rest it’s chin on while sitting on rear facing cooler seat?
