Default Rev limiter on a 2017 Yami F70 ?

2017 F70 17' Triumph . Came with the Yami 13 5/8 X 14K . 7000 rpms at around 35mph . redline stated is 6300 . Respected Prop shop guy thinks the tach is off . " No way could it run that high with that prop " . Guessing it would take a 18-19 p prop to lower it to 6,000 . 2 year old tach , not Yamaha

35 MPH @ 7000 RPM with a 14” pitch prop is possible. That about 12 percent calculated propeller slip, which is a little high, so it is also possible the tachometer is off.

What tach are you using?

Believe the rev limiter on that motor is 6400. Max "recommended" RPM is 6300
unless you've modified the ECU or something, the computer will not let that motor go to 7000.
I'd check the settings on the tach.

6300 RPM red line on the F70. N limiter kicks in ~ 6449.

If the motor is in the rev limiter at 6450-6600 RPM and 35 MPH, the calculated propeller slip is about 6 percent, which is what I would expect.

Tach is off.

Man thanks guys , I feel better now ! I think it's Faria brand tach , I'll pull it sunday and look for a way to calibrate it . I ordered a cheap lawnmower tach today to see what I actually have .
