Default 1989 80hp 2-stroke Merc Outboard

Hey folks,

We have a new to us 1989 80hp 2stroke Mercury outboard motor for our 1989 Lund Tyee. I have a few questions. I have the serial number but am unable to find any info online based on this, One website is trying to tell me it is a Yamaha 70hp. Does anyone know anything about this motor? Really want to get a manual so I can start ordering parts and fixing her up. Engine runs well but yesterday when we went to winterize the boat, we found a good amount of water in the lower unit. Removed the prop to look for fishing line with no luck. Looking next to replace seals. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading! I will add some pictures below.

I would refill the lower unit with oil until you change or find a shop to change the seals. You don't want it sitting around dry.

So, what is the serial number?

Do you have a photo of the motor?
