Default Trolling motor plug and wiring

I just purchased a 1992 invader V166 fish/ ski boat. I would like to add a trolling motor but I am trying to figure out the factory wiring. It has a 3 position switch with charge 2-12v, 12v, and 12/24v run with a 3 pin connector. Thanks for any help.

I think those 12/24 plug setups allow you to run either 12 or 24 volts on the same wiring - it makes the 12 or 24 volt connection in the plug. Had one years ago.

Best bet is to get a volt meter and check it yourself. No telling what has happened on that boat since 1992. Ha! I would recommend removing the switch and wiring directly unless you want a switch option to disconnect the trolling motor while changing. If adding a 24 volt system, I'd wire the batteries in series at the batteries then run the 24 v hot to a new on\off switch, then out to the hot on the socket for the motor. Run the ground straight to the socket for the motor. Then you can turn the switch one click and disconnect. Some TM models recommend disconnecting from the batteries while charging. If your model doesn't, then drop the switch. It's just one more thing to troubleshoot if you have problems.

You can probably reference a pin out chart for that specific plug if you want to wire to spec.
