Does a GW 257 Fisherman fit my needs. I am looking to go 30 miles or less off shore out of Ponce Inlet (Daytona Beach) Florida. Some near shore fishing, near the jetty fishing, some ICW cruising and at the sandbar with the wife. Where does it come up short. Would love to hear from owners. Would you opt for twin 150’s or twin 200’s. I am planning to purchase pre owned 2015 and newer.

I picked up a 2016 this August and am very happy with it. Big enough to go well offshore on the right days, and small enough to hit any sandbar with ease. We have done more cruising than fishing so far on the Great South Bay in NY, but more fishing lately with cooler temps. Good layout and cockpit space but with Rear seat down or cooler slide out It effectively goes away. I have the twin 200s and it is a rocket, hole shot even loaded is unreal. It is a heavy boat and handles seas very solid. It is a bit tender and tends to want to “steer” bow forward while drifting, but I am coming from a low deadrise platform. Wish there were more rodholders. Let me know any other Qs.

I have owned a 2012 for the last 6 years. Have had it as far as 92 miles offshore. Average around 2 mpg with twin 150’s, cruising around 32 mph and tops out @ 48 mph. Has a 151 gallon fuel tank so good range. It is a good all around boat, family friendly and can still make it offshore. I can easily launch/retrieve solo. Very happy with boat and plan on keeping.
