Coming from kayak fishing, I was shopping for a Gheenoe when I first moved to Florida. My friend talked me into a 17 sailfish instead. After watching this video, I am glad that he did. How are you supposed to chase down a nascar snook or Jack in that thing?

It didn't sink.
They flipped it.
You add a console, a guy trying to go AROUND the console, a poling platform (with the other guy on TOP of that platform!) and it's a recipe for disaster

That Gheenoe is probably overweighted. I had a 13 and could jump out into the water and pull myself in from the side and the gunnel had plenty of height to keep water out. That was with a yeti 65 Yamaha 6hp and one extra person at times.

Guy high on the platform missed up the center of gravity for sure. I never thought it was wise to a platform on one personally.

They flipped it, it did not sink. Super 16 is a much better design if you're looking at bigger Gheenoes.

That's not sinking...that's flipping a boat lol.

I did that to a 17' Hewes off Holiday Isle when I was 18yo during Bartenders Bash one year!

So was the camera guy on a poling platform, or was the camera clipped onto something. Saw some motion of the camera relative to the boat, but not near enough motion if it was hand held.

Can't imagine that had a platform. That would be nutz!

Little narrow boats with a lot of weight... Gots to be super mindful of where the weight is and what it is doing. Go around a console, be careful!!

Seems like flipping would be pretty common in that set up. Life jacket would be my best friend in that rig

Spent a lot of time fishing in a Gheenoe with 3 people and gear (no motor, console, poling platform, etc). Was plenty stable within reason. I see some of these Gheenoes and they are over-equipped. Too much stuff on a slender, light ,glorified, supped-up canoe hull. The CG is way too high. Not surprising to see that happen.
