Default How to use this space? How to hold things there?

New to me boat, I just don’t get what to do with these cut outs and the aluminum rail. For example bottles of water roll right out of them. Any ideas on something easy and inexpensive I can put in there to hold stuff through the day?

Do you bottom fish? How deep are they? If you can find plastic containers that fit behind the rail, that would be good sinker access/storage.

Make up some bins out of 1/2 starboard and create storage for sinkers that way

Yep. You can put your weed bails in there. Yep, if you're a criminal.

That is what I would put there, I hate that they take up usable space elsewhere.

Don't remember where I found them but you can find small cargo nets on line that would fit over that space.

Bungee or shock cord over the front and you can put many items there.

Seems to be the boater version of "map holders" on the sides of car doors. It's designed like that so water doesn't get trapped inside and cause mildew.

You should be able to put a variety of medium sized items in there, such as a fire extinguisher (if the circumference fits), bags of chips, random liquids for the boat, and knick knacks.

measure the spaces and go to h.d. and walmart and get plastic bins for the size of things you want to put in them.
and lifejackets. fishing tackle boxes, shoes, whatever you want. they just convert dead space to something useful.

Use your imagination just like the marketing guys that requested those useless things. Or ask the manufacturer what the hell they were thinking about.

A cargo net ( West Marine has them ) or bungee would be my suggestion.

Pick a Rig Rite cargo net that fits and install it there.
