I'm considering buying one of the above boats for fishing in the Gwynn's Island area/Chesapeake Bay and tributaries. Mostly for fishing but a little family fishing/cruising. My main concern is stability at rest or while drift fishing in the bay as well as fishing around docks, etc in the shallower tributaries and creeks.
Which of these boats do you think will be more stable at rest or drifting in a beam sea?
Thanks.

I figured the consensus would be the Parker but wanted to run it by the group. Would the Sportsman be a good second choice with it's 15 degree deadrise, or would the KW and Sportsman be similar as far as resting/drifting stability? (want to keep my wife happy. She can get queasy with a lot of rolling)
Thanks.
Thanks.

Tri State in Deale MD is having an in-water boat show Oct 1-4
Their ad says they will have a 21 SE there. Because of Covid, I think you have to sign up in advance.

Parker is the better boat. Sportsman and KW are still awesome though. I have had several KW boats as have my brothers. No complaints with any of them. I am in the market for another boat and all 3 are on the radar. The only issue with the Parkers is they don’t seem to have as much storage space. My wife sat in all 3 and Parker was her lowest ranked one for that reason. She does not concern herself with ride and chop as much. For fishing, the Parker is the boat. For family rides and etc. I would go KW.

KW and Sports are good fishing boats. Probably actually ride a little better than the Parker. But the Parker is bigger and more stable. Its less thrills and barebones. Very easy upkeep and tons of room for its size.
I have many hours on Parker boats. All 3 boats are Yamaha Exclusive.

Sorry I didn't realize KW had changed. Sportsman changed to Merc offerings?. Damn that must be very recent.
Parker has been Yamaha for so long.Surprised they haven't offered more options.
Yamaha finally not getting all the transoms they bought anymore.
this was on Sportsman's site.
Sportsman Boats is an exclusive partner of Yamaha Outboards.
Guess their website hasn't been updated?

The Parker 21SE was designed for that exact purpose. Also look at the Pair Marine 21 and Jones Brothers 20, which are very similar boats.

Thanks all. I like the Sportsman's layout(open all the way to the anchor locker on the bow) and the fold up seat at the stern which provides more fishing room. And even more important, there's the more open feeling of the t top (fewer support bars blocking my vision} on the Sportsman. (When standing on the Parker I feel like my view is blocked by four t top support bars in front of me) The Sportsman also has almost the same deadrise (15 degrees) as the Parker(14 degrees) so I would think that would give it more stability at rest than the KW 219 (19 degrees).
I know this is crazy, but I'm more familiar with the quality of the KW and Parker and feel like the Parker is the best made of the three and if I don't get the Parker I'm making a mistake. I'm in new boat hell!
I need to sea trial the three but that's going to be a challenge.
