Default Best portable blue tooth speaker for boat

Got a new boat (21 skiff) that doesn’t have radio or speakers.

I’m leaning towards buying a portable speaker rather than installing it on the boat so that we can bring it on the beach and save some money.

Anyone gone this route? Best speaker to recommend?

thanks

would look for something ip65+ rated

UE Boom 2 or 3 is a highly rated, solid choice

Mine was free.. Painters left it at our house after the job. It was a promotional Sylvania speaker and works great on the skiff. For you I'd go with the least expensive from Amazon:

Second the UE Boom. It's more expensive but worth it - waterproof, louder, and battery lasts longer.
My boat has a stereo but it's not very loud. I'm not one of those guys that feels he needs to DJ for the entire sandbar. So I take my UE Boom on the raft where our group congregates. It's plenty loud up close, and drowns out all the shitty music morons blast at the sandbar.
You can hear it running but it's a bit muffled. Some people link two or three of them. That's an option also.

Pretty simple, go on amazon, sort by 4 star and up, use search term waterproof, click shipped and sold by amazon to get down to legit ones, read the reviews

Personally I have ultimate ears, pissed about their support of their older products but could be blamed on the M&A

If you spend a few minutes doing your home work, you will quickly see the UE and JBL products at the top and highly rated.

I have a JBL "Charge 4" that I use at home. It sounds great and seems pretty durable. I don't use it on my boat, I have a stereo installed.

I have a pair of JBL Flip 5's. Waterproof to 3' submersion, so only drop them in shallow water
We don't use them on the boat, but would if we did sand bars.
Find them cheaper on EBay than Amazon. By a lot - like $40.

I second this, JBL Charge 4 sounds great for the size and it's "waterproof". If you get the app on your phone you can connect multiple speakers together, works great and comes in handy.

I had the UE MegaBoom, I almost returned it as soon as I opened the package because I knew the waterproofing on the charge port was going to fail. It sounded so good, I decided to keep it..... I should have returned it, the charge port failed in a few months. Maybe they have improved the charge port seals

Now I have the JBL Xtream2 and it's a great speaker. Sound quality is even better than the MegaBoom and louder I think, although I did think it would be louder than it is. Amazon puts them on sale from time to time for $250 so don't pay the $350 regular price!

I also have an EcoXgear that has spent an a lot of time strapped to the front of a paddle board getting submerged in waves and it works like a champ. This is an older smaller speaker and sound quality is not great but the waterproofing is awesome. I assume they have improved their sound by now as mine is probably 4 years old.

Costco has a Bose for $110. Bought one for the house, and it's great!

Wet Sounds cooler. Tri-purpose. Store drinks/fish, music, extra seating.

UE Megablast here. It’s plenty loud even on my CC at cruising speed, waterproof, long battery life AND if fits in a cup holder
