Does anyone have a photo of a boat with Stars and Stripes blue with bright green bottom paint? Having a hard time finding one online. Thanks

Here is one of our Seacrafts in Flag Blue and Green. We have another in the family in Stars and Stripes blue but it has a white bottom. I don’t think green would be a great match for Stars and Stripes. But there is something weird about awlgrip colors, it seems the more bold you get on combos the better it looks. So it might look awesome!

Thanks all! Currently the boat is a very dark navy blue with green bottom. The gelcoat is old and needs a refresh but the bottom was just blasted and redone with green bottom paint. I was just toying around with the idea or changing the hull color but really don’t want to change the bottom paint color. I agree, the green with the lighter blue could be iffy or just plain bad. Just wanted to see a pic to make sure it would look wrong. Guess that’s why I can’t find any! Here is a little mock up I did and I’m not sure I like it or not.

Op - if you're probably looking at a 8-10k paint job for the top...what's another $300 in bottom paint for the bottom to get exactly what you want? I highly doubt on that albin you're going to notice performance difference with one extra coat of paint.

Right, I understand that, I was just trying to decide if the green worked with the blue or not....

My opinion is no, it works with the flag and darker blues. It’s a very traditional combo especially with some red and gold
on Stars and Stripes blue? I’m not sold
why not just paint the hull and see if you like it with the existing green bottom? The bottom gets painted after the hull sides are complete anyhow

im a little shocked to be honest, I have the hardest time convincing Albin, Back Cove, Fortier owners to change ANYTHING on the boat. They just love their flag blues.

It is funny you say that, at the rendezvous last year there was an Albin 31 that had been painted a different color and recently sold. The new owner voiced that it sat on the market for a while because it was not a traditional original color. The way I look at it is that I throw tens of thousands of dollars at the boat and never see a change because its all in unseen upgrades and repairs. If I am paying for a paint job its hard for me to wrap my head around it looking the same from a distance. Then again, maybe staying original is the way to go. It is classic.

when i say they do not deviate they do not deviate. Had one that had a painted stripe that was really not done properly up towards the bow and it was insisted that I duplicate it exactly
