Nope, different one. I had the same boat. 01 32zf ska closed transom with late 2000's 225 Optis. DTS and smartcraft. Boat cavitated out of the hole pretty easily if you where aggressive. I would lay into and then back off and get back into it. It ran 52mph gps WOT. Wakes or no wakes just put the sticks down and go. I don't remember the pitch or rpms but I remember the boat. Rides like a tank. Might be one of my favorites.

i absolutely love the boat, and the ride. If I can get this hole shot issue resolved I'll probably have it for a long time. Sounds like you had pretty much the same exact boat, except mine doesn't have dts, which I wish it did. I'm planning on doing a lot of work to this one to bring it a little more current. Just had pads re-done. I built a seachest for the livewell and washdown pumps, just re-located the batteries and ran all new battery cables. Planning on doing aquatraction deck and rhodan in the near future.

Also, I took the boat out Sunday and ran it in the river. At 4500 rpms I was only getting about 35-38 mph (gps). According to the slip calculator that's about 31% slip which I know is too high. Do you think thats related to the shaft length as well? Or do I have a prop issue to worry about too?
I think you’re making a mistake, for the same amount of money, you can make them 30” shafts and the boat will perform as it should and not have to worry about cracking the transom. For sure your slip is high due to the elevated engine height. I would send your props out and have them repaired and the Exhaust tubes cut as well to give some bow lift.

No, when I said extension I meant the shaft extension kit to make them 30". I'm in jacksonville fl, anyone/anywhere you recommend to send the props too?

Ill be ordering the extension kits in the next week or two. I've been shopping around and the cheapest I've found them is $849 per kit. Are you having similar issues Cayman?

I put a Bay Manufacturing extension kit on an older 225 Johnson (25") before eventually re-powering with a 30". The kit worked great, and I had no issues. Install wasn't difficult, but there wasn't enough clearance for the diameter of the drive shaft extension (<-I believe this is only true for some motors). Found a video of a guy using a threaded rod with some hole saws rigged up to bore the hole larger. It worked great. Quick Youtube search and you should find if (if needed). I recommend some super glue to hold the water tube extension in place while trying to get the lower unit back on. Also, the cast aluminum pc that will match your LU doesn't come painted, so best get some matching paint on order too. Good luck!
