I have a 28 bluewater with twin 300s and sea star helm and twin rams. The helm I have now, sea star sport tilt helm 2.0 and I need to replace it. I have a friend that says switch to the sea star 1.7, it will make it much easier to steer. Has anyone replaced their helm and switched from one to the other. Any advise will help

Yes, the 1.7 will be a big improvement.

The 1.7 will be much easier to turn BUT it’s more turns lock to lock. I believe it’s about 2 more turns

I just put a sea star pro 2.0 on my Parker 23 with a single Suzuki 175, It is harder to steer than I would prefer so I would say you should probably go with the 1.7.
