Default 36+ ft CC with shallow draft?

I had someone ask me if I knew of any larger boats that would work in our bay system and I didn’t have anything to offer so thought I’d ask here. We are in shallower bays around Palacios, Tx. My 25ft Proline has issues getting up on plane without eating mud everytime (usually have to crank the wheel to pop-up) but manages most the time. However once on plane there’s deeper water not far away. I can also just idle out in mine usually without any issue for the 1.5miles. It’s just much easier to leave from the piers than to try and trailer to Somewhere else and even if idling out still saves us time. Any idea of 36+ft boats that have a relatively shallow draft?

All the stepped hull S. FL boats are pretty shallow draft. Getting up on plane is another convo but they were really designed to float over flats for white bait. Never measured my 36 INV but I can move her around in about 2-3' slowly.

Mid 30s maybe a planing cat. Not sure what the 35 inv drafts. Maybe the new 32 Calcutta will be skinnier?

mid 30s and shallow draft is kind of an oxymoron.

a big hybrid like the 28 seahunter or blue wave might be better fits.

Jefferson Marlago draws 2’3”. I’d bet it can plain in a little more with all of the tab down. If you put longer tabs on and spin the props out, it could probably do it in barely more than its draft.

The only way to make a boat of a given weight and size (displacement) draw less water is to give it a flatter bottom with less deadrise. Look at the traditional Chesapeake deadrise designs, hard chines & flat bottoms.

Thanks for the info. That's not so bad. I was a little confused on if draft was the lowest part (ie engines all the way down) or what but if a 36 inv can do it then I'd imagine most could. Sounds like we have the same type of depths.

A Saltwater Sportsman paid advertisment review article has the 35 Invincible Cat at a 20" draft...which...yeah...

33 Ocean Master is my only thought that’s close.
