Default Invincible boats not for sale.

Hello all, Iíve been reading advice and information from this site for years. It is a great source for everyone. Thank all of you contributors over the years.

I wanted to start a discussion regarding the purchase of a new boat. This is not a bash. Just my experience.

After much thought and THT advise. I decided to order a 32 or 36í Yellowfin. I went so far as to get a build sheet and spec one out. With a few questions still not answered from Yellowfin, I had not submitted it for a build. The wait was quoted as 8-16 months. Some said it would be 24 months. Upon discovering Invincible boats I read everything written here and other places. I know the ride is likely not as good as Yellowfin.

But with a much shorter wait time. And new boats in stock in many places. They became my second choice for a stepped hull CC.

I found one in Texas, A Texas dealer has. I drove 5 hours to look at it. I was ready to buy it on the spot. I knew this boat had been in stock a long time. I knew it has over 30 hours on it. But I was still very interested.
the sales guy gave me a bad impression. Discouraging what I wanted in my new boat. Telling me I didnít want it the way I said I did. Trying to get me into his boat. He is a salesman. I get it. But his demeanor was condescending and disrespectful.
when I pointed out it had a lot of hours for a new boat, and damage I found. He rudely stated itís a new boat. It will not help you on price. I did not ask for a price change. It took him a week to price. I just wanted him to price it according to the damage and the use. By then I was done with him. Canít buy from a guy who lies and is condescending to a buyer.
At that time I did not know that Invincible protects markets. I contacted another dealer I found from the internet listings of invincible boats for sale. That salesman was nice and helpful. He did not say he could not sell me a boat. He did contact the Texas dealer. They called me. I told the regional guy what happened. And that I was fed up. Donít want To pay people money that treat me that way.

I was told by the other dealer I should speak with the guy that the head of sales. So I did. Found no leadership here. Platitudes. Thatís it. Friendly but no will to be sure he took care of me. Ended up back trying to work with the Texas dealer. Only to have little interaction. Questions posed. Very few answers. I get that everyone selling the boats may not be very knowledgeable about them. Iím was a hot ready to buy buyer. With answers not filled. I call a dealer in Florida who test boats and motor combinations. Only to ask direct questions about a motor prop combo. I never asked for a boat price. I never tried to buy a boat from there. After they helped me with answers a salesman called me about buying an Invincible from him. He was great, fast knowledgeable. I told him Iím in Texas. He did not know that would be a problem I guess. He said he would love to sell me a boat. Said he sells boat to Texas a lot. So I thought he could. He was extremely helpful. From him I gleaned what I wanted in the boat. A boat I did not initiate a sales conversation on at all. I was ready to send a deposit if the price was fair. On the day I was to get his pricing, he calls me to apologize and say he thought he could sell me a boat. But found out he cannot sell to a Texan.
I ask, am I the only customer treated this way? Maybe I am. Curious.
this whole thing has made me drop my hunt for a boat. Iíll just wait for the pending bubble to burst. Wait until boat makers need and want a customer. It will happen in the next 18 months. All bubbles burst. Same cycle.
Thank you for your comments and reply's in advance. Please forgive typos, punctuation.

Youíll love a 36YF. If your not ready to build one and wait, plenty of nice 36s on YF web page or listed other places. I fish one and itís always a killer ride and fishes the nasty stuff real well

Give SeaVee a call. Invincible has gone through an ownership change. I recently toured the SeaVee factory and they have their s**t wired tight. Good luck.

There's no telling when the boat bubble will burst. Maybe November 3rd?

Some manufacturers have sales territories that penalize dealers that sell outside there market. The exception seems to be boats purchased at boat shows, I don’t know why that is. I bought my Cobia from a dealer in South Florida, registered in Destin and the dealer said I bought at the show. Other manufacturers have other rules, but the territory system doesn’t help the consumer.

Hi and welcome to THT, and thanks for joining just to post how reluctant boat dealers are to take a half million dollars off a customer's hands, happens all the time

Next time have one of the other kids in your class proof read your ramblings.

Ran into a similar issue with Robalo. I had no interest in playing games with the purchase of a family toy, so I ended up in a private party sale.

Give Granser marine in orange beach al a call. If a boat is used it can be sold outside of territory. They sell alot of invincibles and likely can get you in a slightly used model. Ask for Chris or Matt

Why not give Invincible a call, surely they can put you onto a dealer who’s authorised to sell in your area.
It probably would have been quicker to do that than to moan about it on here.

"It's a NEW boat" as in demo, boat show boat, that has 30 hours of hammer down demo time.

It’s part of their new dealer structure and protecting their dealer’s territory. We have some customers with some bad experiences from a ‘local’ Invincible dealer but they’re now forced to buy from them if they want an Invincible. They’re just going to grit their teeth, buy the boat from them and have us install the electronics. Anyone used to be able to buy factory direct. That’s the way it was before the buy-out.

As previously mentioned, definitely take a look at SeaVee. You won’t be disappointed, I’ll promise you that.

Not at the level to drop that kind of coin yet on a boat but even at 100k I would either make it work with the dealer in FL(Maybe you have a vacation home in FL you forgot about). Or find another brand that supplies a quality boat that fits my needs. No reason to get pigeon holed to a dealer that sucks.

Make sure you can see the bow, when sitting at the Helm, on the YF.

If the dealer treats you like that when considering a purchase, imagine how great the service will be after the sale.

Thank you Wickedfisha, Good advice. When I get the energy and desire back. They wore me out. I run a business full time. Hard to find time to research and by a boat. I put in the effort, was ready to buy at any moment. After my last interaction with Invincible. The desire just went away. I told my friend who is also getting into the market I was buying one two weeks ago. He said ďonce you decide you always jump right in and do itĒ He is right. Not this time, Not by choice until now. Iíll see if that desire comes back, the Invincible drama team definitely squashed it.

I agree it doesnít, I donít mind it. When you have a consumer / dealer conflict or road block or bump in the road. They should have a real response to accommodate a buyer. Caring about dealers and salesmanís security and protecting each other does not sell boats. Listening to a salesman Cover is rear with an excuse doesnít help either. Especially when the full thread of text and emails donít lie.
