Default I hate a thief!

How do you guys stop this from happening?
Came back to the ramp and this is what happened to my trailer and truck.

A guy fishing on the dock said he noticed a truck with a boat on a trailer parked behind me for about 15 minutes.

I was parked from 6am to 3pm at Maximo Park in St Pete.
I guess I will now have to wrap chain through all of the wheels and lock it up!

And my mirror too!

Whoever stole that is absolute human trash. Sorry for your misfortune. If it's any consolation the human trash that stole your hub/wheel/tire probably lives a shitty existence. For people like that, their lives are their punishment, and their misdeeds will catch up to them eventually in one way or another.

Since good battery powered impact wrenches and battery powered angle grinders with cutoff wheels came about, nothing is safe anymore. Both of those tools will make short work of lug nuts and any chain, lock or cable.

Interesting. Maximo is a busy place for someone to try and steal stuff when it takes that kind of effort. Hub and all.

I'd be willing to bet someone blew out a hub and thought it was better to steal someone else's than go to the store and buy a new one.

I think It's easier to take the hub and wheel in one shot...no lug nuts to deal with, pop cap, remove cotter pin and remove nut., don't even have to jack it up..just give it a good yank!

They tried to take my spare (tire and hub) but probably didn't have the tools needed to remove it.

I'm with you. I left my trailer all day at the ponce inlet ramp and someone stole my guide poles, but stealing the entire wheel really sucks.

I thought maximo would have been fine. I see a fair amount of LEOs go through there. Maybe that's why.

What a POS. If you look like you know what you are doing you could likely do that in broad daylight with a crowd watching. How often do you see someone working on a boat/trailer at the ramp and assume they are a thief? Typical assumption is they are working on their own stuff and its broken. Moving from 1 hub/tire to doing 3-4 might raise some attention, but a single would be easy to do at most any ramp in the US.

Kudos to you for keeping up with trailer maintenance, that hub looks well greased. They sure picked a winner

Well you're doing better than me. I had my entire trailer stolen at the SR64 ramp in B-Town. It was me and 4 kids. It was a really bad day.
A-hole Cut the lock.
Luckily, a nice old lady let me tie up to her dock for a few days until I could order a new trailer.

City cop could care less and acted like I was wasting his time filling out a police report.

Someone stole my boat ramp sandals out of the back of my truck last week.

Kinda sucked, had to limp home just like the OP.

Damn, Maximo is my old marina. Locking lugnuts and park by security cameras? Ask the guy what kid of truck and boat then ask the guys at Maximo if they know who it is. Long shot but you never know.
