Default Robalo Dealer Service Area

I want a specific, new Robalo that is sitting on the lot of a Robalo dealer outside of my area. My local Robalo dealer is a lazy barnacle and is unwilling to pursue said boat as he wants me to wait 12 weeks to put in an order. How do I get the boat I want today?? in other words can I get around the “local” dealer issue??

Give an address local to his dealership....rent a PO or UPS box for a month if you have to.

I can not imagine that the other dealer wold not just sell you the boat ..... that is BS.

I bought my new SH from a dealer 5 hours away, because I could not find a good deal(nor model I wanted) locally. No issues.

Of course you don't have to purchase from that dealer.

Sucks because you will want it serviced by the local dealer but if they wont sell you a boat its on them.
I'd inform them of my intent to purchase one elsewhere if they cant deliver.
If they can't, go buy what you want.
I worked two dealers (not really on purpose), the one closest to me is where I went 2nd and got a better deal and a year newer.

Are you saying that the "outside of my area" dealer won't sell you a boat?

Most of the boat lines who impose geographic restrictions only do it on current model year boats. Once the 21s come out, leftover inventory is fair game.

Does Robalo even impose restrictions?

Dealers trade inventory all the time. Give the local dealer a chance to work it out with the remote dealer. It’s in their interest and yours to make it happen.

Maybe not... if there's an ongoing "boat shortage".

move been “giving him a chance” for a month. If I go to the out of town dealer though, Robalo is very specific about staying int territory. I called on another boat at a different dealership and he wouldn’t give me the time of day after I told him where I lived. Said it would have to be worked out with the local dealer.

I find it odd and hard to believe that dealer who has the boat you want won't sell you the boat you want. That is crazy. If the local dealer won't work with you on this to get you what you want then I would also be concerned with service afterwards....

I had the same experience on my 2019 purchase. Stalled out until the Robalo factory rep stepped in and said he would find me a boat in inventory somewhere that met my requirements and work the details out with the dealers. I ended up ordering a boat so I never pursued the swap but he explained to that dealers did this all the time. I got the very strong impression that it would be a pretty tall order to purchase from a dealer outside of my territory.
