I hope he enjoys the boat I saw the sale price of the new one listed as 595,000 maybe the dealer fudged the number when he listed it in yachtworld as sold. It showed it being sold for 595,00 I just hate dealers that inflate their number on the boat their selling you to make you feel good on your trade. But I doubt he did that cause that boat has been on themarket since March of this year at 595,000

Hope he enjoys the boat and she holds together we can save some bandwith without another thread like this. And as long as he never has to sell it he can avoid the resale issue.

Agreed. Resale on the Luhrs is terrible. BTW, I had been looking for a 41CV and had dealer demos 2007 models at 599K. And that was two months ago before the market (stock) crashed.

I would have to dissagree about resale value of Luhrs boats. Did you see the price Dave is asking For the trade in. That is a "great" value for that boat. I can't believe he is selling it for that???????? I'm sure it has to do with Wall Streets performance right now because that is one hell of a price for that boat! These boats are called 30/31s but they are really bigger. This is a really big boat for its size. Excellent visability which I would think has to be unparralled in the industry. I sure would like to see it if there is a better set up than this boat!

Oh yea... now that the 41 luhrs open purchase is a done deal.... I might as well clue you in on what I had mentioned is a little more the story than I was telling. I did not buy the boat ...my son did. It was him all along who caught the tuna, had the 30 open and traded it in for the 41 open. I just had more time to see if anyone here had any real information on the 2006 or newer 41 open that would be a concern to a potential buyer. Since nobody had any I am contributing this whole thread as a bunch of boaters trying to say my boat is better than your boat. As to new boats.. mine is under construction right now. I should have it in about a month. I learned how to email picture so I can do that. What pics do you want. I have pics of my boat being built and I can go take some of my kids new boat and probably some of his 30 open if you still want to see what that one looks like. I know that Dave is in the business to sell boats so I'm sure he would be willing to sell it to you. Its a great boat for its size.
How can this thread be about people wanting to say their boat is better tha yours when it was started by a 41 Luhrs owner? I hop your son enjoys his new boat and he does not hav the experience as other here have stated.

About the only scenario I can imagine is you had a spare 150k cash laying around and found a extremly over extended Wall street junky needing instant cash to cover his margin calls. It has been known to happen. Lucky find and nice catch.

Boatman, I believe the 41 open hull was modified from the original 41CV hull to get better interior volume. The Open exihibited better sea keeping then the CV and Luhrs began to use the Open hull on the CV at hull #140 in model year 2005. The Open should not have the same hull "problems" experienced by the posters in this forum with 2005 model 41CV's hull #99 to 139. Tell your son good luck with the boat, very nice.
This is correct.

Boatman - Make damn sure your son has someone IMMEDIATELY check all of the forward tower stanchions fasteners. There was a serious problem with the fasteners not hitting the aluminum landings that are glassed into the cap. They really need to be thru-bolted rather than drilled and tapped...if their even hitting the aluminum. You need to also make sure they are not 1/4-20s used to secure the tower legs. You need to make sure this is done or you could be in for some serious problems. I would also put a sprinkler up on the foredeck and let it run over night and check for leaks in the salon. There are probably a lot of dry screws on those tower legs and handrail. Just a heads up. Those problems can compound pretty quickly. Its not a bad boat, but these things need to be checked before you get stuck in some rough stuff.

I did alot of homework on this boat before I purchased something else. Very nice boat IMO. Just get the right hull #.

No, I haven't posted any pics of my boat or the new boat under construction. I would have to email them to you since I can't post pictures here. My boat was repowered 5 ish years ago and the "new">wink< engine has 6k+ hours on it already. Being the last engine got an estimated 24k hours on it, this one still has plenty hours left in it. The transmission was rebuilt once around 27k hours so that must have about 2 or 3 k on it now??? I haven't tried to sell it yet but the new boat should be ready in November??? I'll have to play it by ear till I actually recieve it.

Little confused, the boat had 6000 hours on her? Isn't Boatguy the Luhrs dealer? Why does he need pictures of his own trade in or the new boat he sold you?

I follow this soap opera too and thought I was the only one confused. I thought he bought a new demo boat for 595,000 and traded his in. Now the boat is being built and he hasn't sold his yet?? Could there actually be two different people buying a Luhrs 41??
