Do you really believe that a simple count of boats for sale is any indication of quality? I re-ran your Yachtworld search but changed the Mfg/Model: from Luhrs to Tiara. It returned 41 boats for sale. More than the Luhrs. Hmmm, I guess the Tiara owners are all unhappy and suffering buyer's remorse too.
Not apples to apples. The search on the Tiara includes 2 different hulls:

I guess I can't post pictures because I'm not in the captains club.....
You are correct. I didn't notice you're not a CC member.
Easy enough to remedy. Start an account with a picture hosting site, like photobucket, and post a link.
This isn't rocket science......if I can figure it out, anyone can.
I am not going to further derail this thread by continuing this discourse. God knows it's gone way beyond that now, and I don't like the fact I have become a part of derailing it.
This will be my last contribution to the fiasco known as the "41 Luhrs Buyer Beware" thread.

CLK, nice of you to accept but you may want to read with a little better comprehension because there was no apology needed or given. I was actually trying to show you a little respect but your sarcastic reply tells me I probably shouldn't have. My attempts at civility were obviously ignored. As I mentioned, this thread is 100% useless and has been for the last 2 years so you won't see me on it again. Enjoy the negativity.

You can look at the amount of 41's for sale and draw some conclusions. The boat has major problems and the owners don't want them. Luhrs screwed all of these owners. Tom and Tommy had over $ 750,000.00 in that boat. They sold the boat for $ 320,000 because that was all these boats are worth with the problems. You can try to blame the market but there are no other models that drop more than 50% in value in 20 months.Funny you talk about Tiara Bobby, Did they not have a poor hull on the 39 convertible. They did not sell the boats like Luhrs , they waited for a year to deliver sold boats and worked on th hulls. Luhrs sold the boats and said F**k the buyers. Where were you in the spring of 2007 thru now Bobby and Jags? If you both do not agree these boats were flawed you are liars. Jags is your buddy and has returned to help you sell some boats. The 38 boats have been for sale for more than 18 months, In the summer on 2007 Luhrs was working on hull # 70, once again over 50% have the boats on the market in 2 years. There are lots of Vikings on the market, and yes the economy is bad, but look at the numbers. The Luhrs 41 was the worst boat I have ever been on in my life! Jags, you are wrong, this thread showed what kind of company Luhrs is and warned buyers about this product. I don't call that useless. Did you consider the 41 Luhrs when you were looking at the Mirage ?

You know, its rather Ironic to see the comments that were made all the way back on page 2 or 3... worth a re read if you are trying to induce a migrane.....

I'd be concerned paying 595,000 for a boat when a sistership indentical to it with only 200hrs sold for 420,000 in the spring when the market was at its recent peak. Thats some serious depreciation.

Shredster

I'm not concerned about how green someone elses lawn is. This boat has all the options including the yanmar option. The dealership gave evry effort possible to make sure this demo was as good as any brand spankin new boat which included what appears to be some extremely talented Luhrs factory technicians coming all the way up to Ma. to bring the boat up to par. You guys are dreaming about the customer service of Luhrs. Everything has been absolutely flawless. Again, It was my son who bought the boat so I am speeking to the best of my recolection of true events. I don't believe the purchase price was the full $595. Dave used a very sharp pencil and was very generious with the trade in allowance. But then why not . .... the trade was a like new Luhrs 30 open. If a person is forced to bail out of some boat for whatever reason, he might not get a fair price as the example you gave of last spring. That could happen in any economy let alone this one. As of last week..Dave was happy to sell the boat and my son was happy about buying the boat. What anyone else did just don't matter.

Shredder , this is the boat my son traded in. It is alot of boat for the money. I thought it was extremely comfortable and would even make a nice family boat when you didn't want to hard core fish it. I would recomend it to anyone looking for that size boat range.

Boatman, I believe the 41 open hull was modified from the original 41CV hull to get better interior volume. The Open exihibited better sea keeping then the CV and Luhrs began to use the Open hull on the CV at hull #140 in model year 2005. The Open should not have the same hull "problems" experienced by the posters in this forum with 2005 model 41CV's hull #99 to 139. Tell your son good luck with the boat, very nice.
