I wonder if the boat has been "TOURNAMENT FISHED"? Whatever the hell that means.

If you read 41Luhrs last post, he said see you next year, so I think he won't be back for quite a while.

Not to long Next year is only 10 days away

Schmaltz, that is one ugly picture. Please tell me you got that pic off the internet and it was not "self-created"!
That is not the result of my wifes cooking but rather the business card of a neighbors retriever. It was a Nikon Coolpix that captured the 'moment'.

I think the moderator picked up the poop.

Let me see ...... this guy has no case and should be banned because :

1. He cant spell
2. He used "Caps"
3. He didn't ans your questions fast enough
4. The boat has been under repair/or not for four months with 4 more months promised
and he ain't just "Peachy Keen" with that solution for a new demo 600K boat..
5. The co owners /dealers / repair people can spell , don't use caps and repeat the same
old company line "We are working on it"
6. He should have expected his new boat to be off line for 6-8 monthe because the boats are "Hard to make because the run in water" and he should expect some problems...

But you let a guy have problems with a Pair of 250 HPDIs and Yamaha takes 5 weeks to get the fix on them and Yamaha is the "Devil"

Most of you guys take a different position on every issue based on whether you like
the way the guy types or spells ...geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

Silver Bullet and Bertram you hit the nail on the head !!! So many people on this site are quick to say "you get what you pay for" or " Luhrs is a price boat" If I were to guess --less than 25 of the 11,000 viewers have ever paid that kind of money for a boat. Something most of us use less than 80 days a year. Most of those who post this have never paid $600,000.00 for the homes they live in, and I would bet most live in homes built by Pultie,Centex,KB, and all the other "price point builders". This man is upset -- so he misspelled some words -- who can blame him.
For those who think this does not happen to Viking, Bertram, or any other "quality" boats you are crazy. I have spoken to numerous owners of new boats from these same manufactures --- You know what they say -- It takes a year to work out all the bugs. The marine industry get away with this type of garbage.

Jags --I am not trying to start anything with you , but -- How do you know so much info on this case?

Whippa4 you are right on some aspects of your post but come on ! How long does it take to tear down and rebuild an outboard motor whichever brand it is? NOT 6 months! If someone is having serious problems with there "yamaha" and they can't figure out what is wrong then I would suggest what was suggested to me on this sight, TAKE IT TO A YAMAHA DEALER". I followed someones advise and my problem was fixed in 1 day and cost less than a grand. I can't spell either but I don't start off asking for help by posting "Let me explain to YOU why this product is the biggest pos I've ever seen"--------------

Sunshine, I knew a little about this situation and knew that alot of what he was saying simply wasn't true. Instead of arguing, I let him state his case and he eventually did what I thought he may do which was contradict himself. In this case, it was just luck that I knew anything about this at all. No secrets here, just friends with some people who knew about this. I also learned some as this went along because I went and asked some questions. No big secrets really, mostly luck.

What a read, 9 pages, I'm going to bed now. One can only dream about dropping 600k on a toy, if the Lotto gods ever blessed me, I'd expect my toy to be right. The first few pages 41 had my backing, but the farther in the story I got, the farther from the truth 41 wanted to be. Should have known, first post and it was a bash.

Wow and just think I have a 1989 Bayliner 3288 MY and after 17 years, other than normal wear and tear I've had no major issues like that other brand, HMMMM. This ought to start something good. HA HA

Very interesting read.. I have owned Bertram, Phoenix, Pursuit, Topaz, Two Henriques 35 and 38, Mako and now a Tiara 31..All boats have their share of problems. The key to this hobby is who stands up to repair their products without tears, lawsuits threats and all this internet crap. I cracked the bottom on my 38 henriques, they tripped over them self's to get the boat back to them so they could repair it. No threats no nasty posts. They had the boat for several weeks. Repaired.. never would know there was a problem. Very stand up group of people. My Tiara is 18 years old. They had one boat (out of the thousands they built over 20 years) develop a fuel leak due to salt water hitting the tank. They contacted every owner and replaced tanks that were that were not leaking and some were 15 to 20 years old. Again a very stand up company. I have found like everything else you get what you pay for. When you pay the super priuim price for Tiara, Viking, Hatt, Regulator you better get super after the sale service or these builders will be history..nobody needs to own a boat, this is a sport, hobby.. the people that need a boat to earn a livin would not own most if not all of the boats we talk about on these fourms. Luhrs is a price point boat that is attempting to make the sport affordable to more people. Most of the one I have been on I thought were very nice boats. In fact a friend owns a Luhrs 1991 38 flybridge and that boat is built very well..Built as well as any boat I have owned. If the price of fuel and slips keep going the way its going it wont matter because no one other then the very wealthy will be able to afford it.

My family is of the Merritt and Bertram type quality. We always thought of Viking as new money show boats.... kinda like the Bayliner of the Sport fisherman genre....
