however.

I was here to see if anyone had any bad experiences with the new 41 open. Nobody has informed me of anything yet. I do wish the best of luck getting that old style boat that had some problems getting them repaired. As a possable buyer I need realistic posts about the new 41 open. It appears there just aren't any problems with them.

no need to get all worked up. Yes I called Luhrs. Some are making claims that were a little hard to believe so I called Luhrs to see for myself. Lurhs hasn't closed their doors and they are still building boats every day. tommy409 is in the area of the Luhrs plant but can't find and phone numbers to call them. He can't find any dealers for Luhrs in Florida either and can't find any Luhrs boats for sale in Craigs list. tommyr409 was the one who told me to look on Craigs list for Lurhrs boats but can't find it himself. since you are so close to him could you swing by his plumbers office and show him how to do it? tia

No need too Luhrs is closed don't need to call them. I know both numbers by heart and as for spell check Shove it where the sun don't shine I never said a word to you.

Just go and buy your damn 41 Luhrs I hope someone will piss on your boat when it catches fire cause I wont. Or if it sink someone will let you on thier boat cause I wont. Just buy your damn boat.

Wouldn't own a Luhrs for all the money in the world but I'll take a Mainship from the Midway, GA plant any damn day

however I went to the Luhrs website and called the number that is givin. It looks the same as the one you provided. The 0050 number I dialed it at 3:57 sept 17th and recieved an answer. that person connected me to someone in the tecnicals dept( or whatever they called it) where I had to find out that The 41 open is a new design hull and is not the same hull the some of the people here had problems with. Nobody here knew that information or withheld giving out that information if they did know. Wel,l now I know.

I never saw the 41 mainship open sportfish. I did think their bigger boat was under powered since it has less power than the smaller luhrs .

Ok whaever you really need a life. John and Warren both wished Luhrs was still there it's only for warranty calls for now they build one boat now and most of thier stuff has been moved to Hunter and Silverton. You really need to read the local paper they have ton's of informtion on the Luhrs Layoff and no one has been called back.

Just go and buy your damn boat have fun with it. Good Luck to you. And may your family be "SAFE" on it

Being safe in a boat is a relative statement. I once saw a couple of guys in one of those little aluminum boats with a 12 hp kicker on the back 12 miles offshore. Apperantly it made it back just fine. Another time that sticks in my mind were 2 kids in a 13 ft whaler about 6 miles out . the kids were just kids maybe 10 years old but what the heck were the 2 guys thinking? Lets go drown if more than a breath of wind stirs up?

I was looking for something bigger than a 30 or 34. The 2 boats available to me of which one I own and my son owns the other are already bigger than what is made at the Ga plant

Gary

why don't you go away. You have contributed nothing here since I've been here. Have you had any bad experiences with the new 41 open?

Here's what I can't understand. No matter what the quality of the Luhrs is, why would anyone buy one with the hit they'll take trying to resell it? I don't think anyone here has any experience with a 41 Open as no one on here would buy one after what we saw the company do to their customers.

The simple fact of the matter is this--with the economy right now, you can get MUCH better boats for the same money.

I own a 31 open and I was offered full purchase price for it plus the cost of what I added to it. So I won't be taking any hit at all. This is a brand new 41 open demo that is priced well off its msrp. What boats do you think are better that I can pick up for the same kind of money. I'd love to see them!

I find this statement very difficult to believe. FULL purchase price in addition to all upgrades you've made? I doubt it.....

Also, with everything you've said about how demo's are mistreated and beaten, you are considering one?
The more of your posts I read, the more I am certain that you are so chock full of shit I can smell it from here......

wolakrab.
I haven't seen it in writing probably/mostly because I haven't taken it that far yet. That is what I was told would be part of the deal. I'm sure it is factored in as how much they discount the new boat. It sounds better that way to me. I'm sure the numbers would come out the same no matter what. Yes I am concidering buying a demo. I will be going over the boat with a fine tooth comb. Another poster claimed there are much better boats out there for the same money. I'll look into anyones findings of better boats for the same kind of money. So go seek and find a better boat for me! I'll take you out fishin if I buy it! that goes for anyone!

Give me some numbers and I'll find better boats.

A question and I don't want to sound like a smart anchor. Haven't you ever heard if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is?

What it sounds like your deal boils down to is the dealer, if that's who you're dealing with, just wants off, and I mean off, the 41 they have. I'm guessing they're willing to take a hit, get off the big floor dollars on the 41, and have something they're into for half or less to sit on and ride til the market comes back.

Oh, one other thing. I'm guessing there's about 25% in the retail price of the 41 so I'd check those numbers with the trade amount. I'll show you a million for your boat if I can set the price of the one you're buying. If you were going to do the deal, the price of the 41 should start at about 70% of retail and then your trade taken away. I wouldn't buy a new boat today much above dealer cost. There's enough rebates out there for dealers to still make a buck and no ones buying new boats except the top tier stuff. (for the record, I'm not a dealer anymore but that's what I've been hearing, I have no data/facts to back it up)
