Luhrs is not going anywhere and if it does move it is for good reason. Luhrs has made a long lasting impression for St Augustine and local economy. I hope that it does stay put, but if it does move it will be a shame. From this blog it almost seems to me like you were once an employee but now unemployed. I'm a 41 CV luhrs owner and the funny thing is I own one of the hulls that was said to be efective? Makes you wonder. My ride runs like a dream, I fish in many tournements all the way up to Maine, and if your want to say I'm not running my boat correctly, you better not say it to my face. Like any boat there will be problems, and like most "new money" boat buyers today think it should run and act like a a car...sorry everyone can't happen. These are big boy toys and if you can't hang then watch from the dock. Luhrs has took great care of me over many years with many different models owned. I wish they would build something bigger...I'd buy it. So hopefully everyone out there gives this product a chance before you let someone here on this shameful web-site make up your mind as to what boat you should buy. please respond with anything you have to say. Remember being educated is the key to success. Don't be the fool. Good luck...to all

Are those your boats in this picture?
If so, if I recall and I KNOw Ocean Yachts were once called the the flexible flyer.
You seemed to buy though? Why? because they fixed the problem. Did Luhrs fix the problem or should I say someone thought there was a problem so they fixed it? I think the answer is yes. Enough said. i think Its wise to come on here and say possitive things like i did about your boat. Don't knock mine i wont knock yours.

Sure is a lot of of first time posters and very new posters saying how good their 41 is.... Looks like damage control is way too late for this titanic.... Im sure not all 41's have a problem, but it looks like quite a few have had to be without their boat for quite a while. I also think I remember some sort of Coast Guard safety bulletin write up about the 41 boat, but that could be my memory (which does fail me from time time ) thinking of something else... I do like how the first time posters slams this "shameful website" that puts all the above post in perspective....

Rides like a dream? There are only two generation one hulls in St. Augustine, so it would have been a boat that was corrected by Luhrs. After the wedges were removed from the tunnels, there wasnt one hull that rode like a dream or even close. The recall fix did improve the ride quality, but isnt a correct fix by any means.

Some of the boats arent bad boats, but there are certainly a fair share with more than average issues. The unfortunate thing is that the people that are happy with there boats have taken an accelerated hit to the values due to this thread. The first generation 41 hulls do have problems, but there are good hulls to be had from Luhrs.

As for what Luhrs has done for the local economy...thats six in one, half a dozen in the other. They have burned more than their share of bridges around St. Augustine. I guess thats why they would hire someone to be an electrician that just came from busting tables. The quality of there boats only have one direction to go in and that is down. Without craftsman to build them they are only going to get what they have put into them. There are some good guys there, but certainly not enough. They certainly stand by their good lo' boy network and that is more than likely a large part of the problem along with managment issues. Im sure there morning meeting looks like a bunch of bobble-head dolls all with their fingers pointed at the one next to them.

I'm confused...you seem to have all this information about Luhrs as if you were once an employee? Did you get cut...were you not a craftsman? I think my work is done here and it sounds to me like you don't own a boat but rather go around bad mouthing things because you have nothing better to do. Maybe instead of chatting here and saying hurtful things you should go out work hard like the rest of the world and maybe one day you can own a boat like mine, and understand what it takes. Good Luck i hope the best for you.

I was once an employee and yes, I was laid off. I do own a boat, but its nothing more than a bay boat. I have no reason to "go around bad mouthing". I have done nothing more than state the truth. I was in the warranty department and worked directly with the recall and the owners of these 41s, so "Sir" I do have an idea as to what Im talking about. Im glad your happy with your boat. There are a lot of owners who are happy with their boats. Great but, that does not change the facts. Lets not assume you know as much as you think you do, because you recently aquired a 41. I would also assume that if you think your boat rides like a dream you havent spent much time on boats in that size range. But that would only be speculation.

at thesouth florida boat show last month the dealer from the keys had 2 Luhrs boats on the floor....i could tell they were uneasy. I didnt have the heart to bring this all up.....i really sympathize with all those involved with Luhrs in one way or another.....i for one would never get involved with Luhrs in ANY capacity. I hope it all works out.

Well when he first posted here he was bashed by most posters and he took allot of heat. He then, over the next several days presented his issues and how Luhrs was handling his issues. Then other Luhrs owner start confirming his issues and their issues with the 41. So its not like he posted and then bailed out. Its great that your 41 is just fine but that does not mean others have not had issues. If I'm correct Luhrs finally did a recall to fix the problem you seem to believe is all made up. Hey, I see Bayliners bashed all the time (which we know why) but my first boat was a Bayliner and that boat was great but I know they also have issues.
