I will post this on this thread since it applies. I had a buddy of mine that used to work at Luhrs. My friend was involved with Q & A on the boats. I can recall numerous times that my buddy attempted to get management to make positive changes in the production area that would help cut down on some of the problems that were ultimately getting to the customer. My friend eventually moved on (by choice) to something else because of the barrier that was put up on trying to improve Q & A issues. My friend was focused on improving the product and not just putting out fires.....I have nothing against Luhrs, they make a pretty boatand all boats have problems, but I would hope philosophy at Luhrs has changed...This poster has been offered a fix. Why he wont take it is beyond me. Sounds like he is using a boat that he has not paid for, but then again the whole situation sounds a bit strange..

Well I have stayed in Holiday Inn Express and owned a 76 Luhrs 28' sportfisher......oh wait Luhrs disavows any knowledge of a Luhrs boat prior to 1988... Oh well, to bad that boat was a TANK, tough as nails

The factory should address 41 LUHR’s complaints, some are trivial, most are not. Any purchase of this magnitude should be preceded by a professional survey, PERIOD! This situation is of your own making.

Based on the post by JYS owners and employee's I would not purchase a dingy from these clowns because of their unprofessional attitude and subsequent practices of airing dirty laundry on this board.

Pass the popcorn Please

I don't think JYS is handling this as professionally as they could (as prev. stated) and defended 41Luhrs. But its beginning to look like 41Luhrs is also playing a game with them. I don't think either of these parties should be posting any more, but if 41Luhrs does choose to post again, I think he should clarify this issue, better yet, fix it so the parties that he needs something from have comfort that their issues re:payment will be rectified to their satisfaction. If he was trying to get something over on them initially, and then these issues arose.....well, that's karma. While this doesn't change the OP's initial opinion, it certainly would explain how this situation has gotten so out of hand. But again, speculation.

41 LUHRS, after reading your posts, it seems to me like you have the communication skills of a doorknob. If this is how you communicate in real life, its no wonder nothing is getting done with your boat. I do wish you all the luck with getting your boat fixed though.

I agree with chrisjb: stop the posting. Luhrs 41 clearly has issues that should be addressed by Luhrs (and that the company allegedly has offered help with). However, the continuation of this thread only serves to defame Luhrs (which I previously thought was a great boat maker). I think that the point has been more than adequately made by both sides. After reading this thread, I think that lawyers on both sides are salivating.

Maybe he is afraid to take it to Florida cause using it in the open ocean will add to his punch list. After all what do you expect from a boat with over 260 hrs on it. This stuff on his list is just normal, no boat is perfect right? My local Luhr's dealer told me there should be some good deals on Luhrs 41's now that their largest dealer just went belly up and got his boats repo'd thats a whole other popcorn story.

Instead of sending people on a rantsite merrygoround, why don't you answer the legitimate questions that have been raised here? Why won't you let the factory fix the problems? Why haven't you paid the dealer?

Yes, 41 Luhrs, please answer why you will not let Luhrs fix the boat? I am dying to hear this. Truth is, you can't answer this question without looking like a fool. You haven't denied the offer is on the table to fix it.

Why will you not let Luhrs fix the boat?

Since we have seen examples of your spelling, which is terrible, we know that the punch list you posted earlier was copied and pasted(the spelling was good so we know Luhrs 41 didn't write it). Who would send you a punch list with things that are going to be fixed? That would be Luhrs based on some of the info in the punch list. Obviously, Luhrs communicated to you what they are going to fix.

So, I ask again, why won't you let Luhrs fix your boat?

  1. The dealer JYS (aka) Jacksonville Yacht Sales has been paid in full and has the proper paper work. So his claim is false.
  2. The factory has been working on the boat from day one and nothing ever gets done. I have heard more stories from Mike Hankins @ Luhrs to fill a library.
  3. My boat is at luhrs plant being worked on they said it will be done and in my slip by april 1st 2007 stay tuned for more information.
  4. I have not been able to use my boat since august 2006 due to many open issues

Did the dealer really take a trade that was contingent on getting an EX WIFE to sign off on the title. Ha Ha Ha When do you think she's going to sign that?

So you are saying the boat is in St. Augustine right now? That is easy enough to confirm.

First you say they are doing nothing...now you say the boat is at the factory and being worked on. Which is it? Exactly where is the boat? If you want, I can run by the plant to check on it for you...if it is actually there.

Last chance, exactly where is the boat right now?

Guess you are not going to answer the question about where the boat is right now.

Your own words: "My boat is at luhrs plant being worked on they said it will be done and in my slip by april 1st 2007 stay tuned for more information. "

If they promised to have the boat repaired and back in the slip by April 1, 2007, why are you bitching 3-1/2 months early?

Again, where is the boat? Actually, I already know the answer, just want to see what you will say.

Ah. So the boat is in the process of being repaired, and you're bit@hing about not being able to get it repaired. Makes perfect sense to me.
