gsniffen -- I will give you the date as soon as I get the info.

"whatever" --Good to see all the a$$holes from Luhrs continue to read this thread. This is the reason I have a open invitation to those near Jupiter to take a ride with me. Every person that has been on my boat has returned to the dock with the same comment " Something is very wrong with this hull !!"

Do any of you on this site know Fred Zucker of Seaworhhy Services in Palm Beach or Dain Flemming in Ft Lauderdale ?? If you do ask these gentlemen about the boat. They have both been on a sea trial at different times. They have no reason to lie for me. This boat SUCKS ...

Where is Brad Sanguinetti -- I know he reads tht -- Come on Brad --- Why don't you get on here and call me a liar -- You were on the boat 3 times, and I know you will not lie for Luhrs. If I was wrong about the boat I would think you would be the first to come on and call Rick and I liars. You don't because you know the truth. You will NEVER see a post from him.

I just want to be a part of this historic thread.

Does anyone know if anyone from Luhrs has seen or heard about this thread?
If you pay real close attention to the whole thread, you'll be able to sniff out a few of them posting here and there. Oooooh yeah, They know!

It seems some of the posts here were either from Luhrs or a Luhrs dealer. Look back at some of the past pages and a few posts were way too defensive for there to not be a connection. Heck, just look at this page and see what I mean. The courts will decide on liability but either way its not good for Luhrs. Bad publicity may be good for some in Hollywood but not in the marine industry. It really is a shame.

Someone is not telling the truth, Luhrs says they have been unable to reproduce the "heeling effect"

So people don't keep up with the Luhrs site or else they would know that 95% of the stuff posted here is a lie and has been told!!!
You pop out of nowhere with a vague claim and expect anyone to believe that you have more cred that Luhrs 41, Sunshine, et al? What a joke! What are you, the newest hire at Luhrs? LOL!

How will we find you at the FLL show or can you say yet. I am sure Luhrs will try to stop anything you do by putting pressure on ShowManagement.

This may be the best thread ever.
No way.

The Official Spouse & Girlfriend Picture Post

69 pages (how ironic) and 584K views.
The reasons are probably that you easier change or have a higher resale value with spouses or girlfriends than with a Luhrs.
Hence the higher number of pictures/comments

I propose a video of the sea trial so it can be posted on youtube. With all the hits to see it we'll probably crash their server! Shoot a video!

The delay tactics have an ulterior motive. Here are the unsubstantiated rumors that I heard today:

1- Roach has been told to take early retirement.
2- Finney (sic) is going to get canned.
3- Production last month was only 3 boats.
4- Property factory sits on has already been sold.
5- Business is being wound down and remaining assets will be moved to Hunter plant in Alachua for dead storage.

The prospect of these lawsuits must be daunting for the factory. I suspect they will delay (remember everything in court happens 30 days at a time) until there is nothing else left leaving the 41 owners with nothing to go after. I really hope this gets resolved, the misfortune the 41 owners have endured is really awful but I would hate to see a company like luhrs ultimately shut down.

I thoght Luhrs 41 was a jerk. Then I saw the pics. If I spent that much money on a boat and got the junk Luhrs 41 did I would be Postal!!!! Maybe he shoud have gotten a survey but WTF he is not the problem. Luhrs made a really bad boat and is screwing the buyer.
In a business like that THT can and will sink a company. Luhrs41 should get a lawyer now and protect his position.

I JUST FOUND THIS ON LUHRS WEB SITE

Hello to all of you current and prospective Luhrs owners!

My name is Jim Krueger and I am writing this to let you know that I have taken over as Head of the Luhrs Sales and Marketing Department effective immediately. Some of you may remember me from the past, as I started with Luhrs Corporation twelve and a half years ago as Director of Sales and Marketing. During my tenure with the company, I have had the privilege of working with a lot of talented people to design, engineer and manufacture as well as sell Luhrs Sport Fishing boats to boat owners such as you throughout the world. I have enjoyed the interaction with Luhrs owners at various rendezvous, boat shows and dealer open houses. But let me digress into my work history in more detail for those of you who do not know me.

I am 55; born in Oconto Falls, WI, have an Associates Degree in Industrial and Architectural Model Building, which led me in to a career spanning over thirty-five years to date in the Marine Industry. My first job at Cruisers, Inc. focused on engineering and bill of materials items, which led into sales and marketing. Over the years I have worked for Sea Ray, Bertram Yachts and the sister company Trojan Yacht, Tollycraft, Shamrock and Luhrs/Mainship. In each case I have been deeply involved in the evolution of all phases of the product and how it is used on the water.

My first year here was devoted to Luhrs, and then years two and three were split between Luhrs and Mainship Sales and Marketing responsibilities. In year four, we decided to separate the two sales efforts so each could focus on serving their respective dealer and customer base. I chose to work on the Trawler program and John Sejeck was promoted to lead the Luhrs program. Thanks to the efforts of many people and the boat buying public, Mainship is now the largest Trawler Manufacturer in the world. Since David Taylor has moved on, I will assume Luhrs Sales and Marketing responsibilities in addition to my charge as VP of Mainship Operations. Experienced Luhrs Regional Sales Managers Don Smith, Ken Stofflet and Sales Coordinator Elanda Floyd will continue to assist Luhrs Dealers and Customers. We will be working hand in hand with Roger Yarborough, VP of Operations for Luhrs who is also an experienced manufacturing and marketing pro in the Marine Industry. Roger was previously with Luhrs for nine years from 1985 through 1995.

And now, I’d like to comment on rumors circulating about Luhrs.

1 – Luhrs in not about to be sold to Brunswick or Ferretti.

2 – Luhrs is not going out of business; boat sales are soft for all boat companies. To address this business climate, we made the decision to continue CNC wood shop operations in Midway and transfer the 34 Pilot and Trawler production to the St Augustine plant, reducing our cost of doing business, while keeping the Midway plant until higher production is needed.

In the last year alone, Luhrs has introduced the 35 Convertible, now introducing the 31 IPS model and is working on a 35 Open, while Mainship introduced the 43 Trawler and Pilot. Mainship is just introducing new two staterooms, two head versions of the Trawler and Pilot along with a new 31 Pilot in December of this year. You don’t make this kind of investment in new models unless you are financially strong.

3 – All of the early 41 Convertible owners were contacted and most where happy with the construction and handling characteristics of their boats despite what a couple of guys are saying. Because a few were not, Luhrs authorized a recall notice and has gone out to fix those boats. We have been sued by one current owner and the courts will decide where it goes from here.

4 – The latest posting on the hull truth is that Warren Luhrs is getting a boat slip for a boat other than a Luhrs and they are suggesting it might be a Bertram. The connotation is that there is something sinister going on here – get a life. Warren is a world-class sailor and enjoys the Mainship cruising life style. We have built three boats for him over the last six years and the latest is a 30-foot “Legend” built by Mainship.

I will be monitoring the Luhrs site as I do the Mainship site to stay in contact with our owners and keep the discussions to facts, not rumors.

Yours truly,
Jim Krueger

The Luhrs website still lists David Taylor as the head of sales and marketing (see press section, upper right corner)

Someone please tell me that item #4 above was added and not part of the original message. I can't imagine someone in charge of marketing at a major corporation posting a message on the web using the term "get a life". If true, the lack of professionalism is astounding.

I just went to the Luhrs site and found that blog in the owner forum. Even bullet #4 was there. This tells me 2 things. They are really having a major issue with the 41 to need to address the issues on their site. There must be quite a few pissed off Luhrs owners of all sizes that do not like this negative press about the quality of boat being built. Resale must be tough right now. This also points out how powerful the net and THT really are. That blog from Jim is very alarming in how it is written. For a sales and marketing "pro" as he refers to himself and his colleagues I would expect much more. If I worked at Luhrs I would be embarrased and if I owned one of their boats I would feel the same.

I wish the best to all those 41 owners who are seaking legal council. Unfortunately the legal system is the only way this is going to be resolved. They have taken their stance and now it is up to the courts to decide. I look forward to the Lauderdale show and seeing how both parties react to the situation.
