So Feedback sold his Vike 45 back before 9 April of this year according to his own post.

I guess he must have bought it back or bought another after deciding the smaller boats he was considering just were not up to his standards.

I do so love to see a liar outed. Yes, the search function is a blessing.

Do you think the guy is a boater or just a writer?

Feedback - 8/12/2007 10:54 AM Joenew61,The problem I have with people like Luhrs 41 is that, all indications are that he bought more boat than he could afford, and by his posted pictures failed to maintain the boat and now is trying to pressure the builder to bail him out of his bad decision. We see this all the time in my business, construction.
feedback Ithink you just cant read. Cleaning is not a problem especially wheni haveonly fished the boat 4 times. My boat is in better shape now then when i first got it from the Luhrs dealer.

p.s. Feedback ask your fishing buddy's to read it for you.

By the way I have a very nice 45 Viking that we are just heading home on as write the reply, had a good day of fishing, when I get back the crew will clean the boat and fill the tanks for next weekend. What people like you and Luhrs 41 don't want to understand is that boats need lots upkeep even new ones. The upkeep on my boat is more than the cost of the boat but I understood that when I bought the boat.
"Just heading home on?" Hmmm . . . in April - you wrote:

I just sold a 45 foot Viking SF because it took for ever to get to the fish so most of the time was just a boat ride. What I'm looking for now is as big a boat as I can easily trailer and then launch at Long Beach or San Diego and get to the fish as fast as reasonable. My time to fish is limited so I need to reduce the boat ride time.
Hey pot, meet kettle.

Guys - Feedback is FOS....

Was looking for a 31fountain/26GB in April Then stepped up to a 45 Viking

also you have a lot of experience loading catamarans on trailers? does your crew help with the launch duties like tie-up or do they go park the truck?

Aww C'mon give the guy a brek! I mean this could be his new "Viking" :

I mean the crew looks ready to wash

her down, and I can see how she could be a bit of a wet ride!

A large company whose offer was turned down for the Rampage plant has now made an offer on Luhrs, I am unsure if they are going to buy the company for the plant or for the plant and the boat line. I highly doubt it would be for the boat line as I believe it would take YEARS and YEARS of flawless boats to bring the name back to anything worthwhile.

Based on the liability of the 41 lawsuits it is within the realm of possibility for the company to fold. Stay tuned.

Luhrs needs to produce 8 boats per month to break even, they are far short of that number.

MEK, you are on the money. Not sure how you know this but you are correct. My guess, this is an asset sale pure and simple. I found out about this today also.

No matter how this turns out, it is unfortunate for all...except maybe the buyer who is...a player to be named later.

I sincerely doubt that that "buyer" has ANY interest in the boat line or shall I say as much interest as brunswick had in rampage!

Agreed. But the plant is perfect. Large, direct access to the ocean, lower taxes, lower cost of labor. Can the quality remain consistent with what they have produced historically? That is the question.

The "buyers" quality has been on par with Luhrs for several years now, they have nothing to worry about!

Feedback, your right. I couldn't afford a dingy, if it was a "LUHRS" dingy. The repairs would bankrupt me.

Speak for yourself. I own several boats ranging from a 30' to a 75' and have owned several 50'+ bertrams and hatteras. Somehow you are right though, I can't bring myself to pay for a new replacement for the aging novurania that hangs off the back of my boat...

Guys what's the point of running down a boat if you own that boat. All you are doing is ruining your resale value of your own boat and everyone else that has the same boat. you guy sound like traders in penny stocks on the net.

The argument could be made that your trying to drive down the price of Luhrs 41 so you could afford one. How small !!!
