The very first post, old number one, really sets the tone for the whole train wreck. If you haven't looked at it for a while, just click page one and refresh your memory. What a hoot!!

I didn't read this whole thing, had been hoping for a condensed version, but.....awhile ago I saw a 53' Cavileer on the West coast of Florida with the name on the transom "Don't Buy a Luhrs". Looking it up in the USCG database, some fellow actually documented the boat with that name....is there any relation to this story?

"I had a good friend who had a Luhrs. I really miss him. " I know this quote must have been a joke, but I laughed so hard

You are so right. I followed the entire thing at the time. I remember thinking.....who is this guy?....and this thread is going nowhere. A hoot for sure (unless it was "your" boat).

Never saw that 50' Topaz express he was trading in either.... That was an albatross of a boat if I'd ever seen one.

I read the entire thing. You can't make up a story line like this. I was up until 3a.m last night and am dragging today. This has easily been the longest thread I've ever read. But I couldn't put it down. Kept telling myself one more page.
