Watermaker

I am looking to install a water maker in my 50 Cantius. The boat is operated in salt water, in the Pacific Northwest.
I am considering to install a rainmaker or a spectra Watermaker. I would like to have the water maker permanently installed, so I don‘t need to monkey around with a portable when I am anchoring out.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Nick

I have run a small spectra unit for 15 years. Replaced a $150 pump head in all that time. Operation can't get much easier. Push the button x times to make x gallons and walk away. Has a manual override if the control cct fails. The Clarke pump setup makes them pretty energy efficient as well. Overall been very happy with it. Do a lot of long range fishing away from ports so reliability has been a major thing for me.
I don't know the rainmaker product.

How many gallons an hour would you like to make? I'm not familiar with Rainmaker or Spectra but have an Aqua Whisper SRC900 that is a compact unit and permanently installed. It is made by Sea Recovery. Had it for 12 years and its been very dependable. It makes about 35-40 gal hour and has a manual backflush.

The other posts touched upon it, Price filters and replacement pump, in the end that's basically the system, so can you manually override the system if needed? Also the auto back flush, cleaning is a good feature

I ask because I was going to install one, we carry 175 gallons of water. Used to last a few days.
I found by managing water use, I was able to squeeze 10-14 days out (mainly by controlling shower water use by turning off in between lathering and using a slower stream of water when washing dishes), including a couple rinses of the boat upon mooring arrival
Now we are drinking from the tanks so will have to see how long it lasts, hoping 7 days.

The water tank is 111 gal. But I take my boat up to BC, Canada and water can get difficult to find, in particular potable water. So I really want a system to be independent. That way I can also wash down the boat when I am on an extended cruise. Most marina‘s in BC don‘t allow boat washing since water is scarce.
