Default Jupiter 31

Seem like a lot of people on here have them. Can we start a thread just for jupiter 31s? I'm new to this forum thing......maybe post pics of things we have done to improve them, repower info, pics etc...?

I've got a 2003 Jupiter 31 that we've had for 3 seasons now. Had 300 HPDI's and had the port side high pressure pump fail on us. Repowered with Yamaha 300 4 strokes and couldn't be happier. Still fine tuning final prop choice. Leaning towards 4 blade 19 Rev4's.

I run a 93, a couple of the mods that were made before we purchased the boat was the rear in floor well was cut open for bilge access, the head was also removed and batteries were relocated in its place. She's equipped with verado 300s and I absolutely love the setup, coming from a yamaha fan this is what sold me on mercs. Boat is built like a tank and im still on the original tanks.

Good looking boat.

Did you ever have props on there that spun "out"? How do you find the docking / handling with the in-spun props?

I haven't, only spinning inward. Handling is OK around the dock, not great. I've read that the 4 blade props should improve handling around the dock. Will update when I get them in about a week.

those 400s look awesome. Have you had any issues with insurance regarding 800hp on hull technically rated for 600?

I have put about 50 hours on my new to me 2007 and I have to say it is hands down the best boat I have owned. Couldn't be happier. Cassic lines, amazing ride and build quality are awesome. Kids wont stop jumping off the hardtop which is starting to get a little annoying though......lol.

Love mine! I’ve had both SeaVee’s and Contenders in the 31 class and the Jup has become my favorite.

Do you have any more pics of your hard top? Is the tubing/framing the same as the soft top?

Moose:

A very good friend of mine built one new in 91 or 92. I went with him to the (then) factory in Riviera Beach, FL and sea-trialed the Demo with him and Joe Moran before he ordered - Twin 200 Merc's on the demo the boat. From what I remember about his build, it was all foam - divinycell. I do remember hearing they built one or two with plywood transoms.
