Default 2016 used boat with 300 Yamaha...only 24 hrs

going to look at a used 2016 bay boat with a 300 Yamaha. motor only has 24 hours...original owner and dealer sold it to buyer originally.

I know low hours are good, but man...not sure only running 24hrs in 4 years is a good thing.

Would you guys be scared of that motor? no warranty.

I bought one that had 70 in four years...2015 F300. It’s been flawless and doesn’t make oil.

Perhaps the best motor Yamaha has ever built.

thxs. just hard to image someone buying a 130k boat....and using it 24 hours in 4 years before selling it. motors don't usually do well sitting, don't want it abused...but a good 50 hrs a yr would have been better IMO.

Change the motor oil, gear lube and fuel filters. My guess is you may have more of a problem with stale gas than with motor issues.

I also share your sentiment but being it’s only a 4 YO boat it don’t think it’s such a big deal.

Buy it and change all fluids and filters and run the piss out of it. Great motor. You will be happy.

People assume just because a motor sits for a long time its an issue. Think of it as a long winter. Change the fluids, filters and poor fuel lines. Over lubricate it, pop the plug turn slowly. Get everything loose, ring free a little extra. Start it up let run for a while at idle. Put it in the water do a light breaking 5 hours maybe. And your good to go.
