Default Displaying older Merc EFI engine data on Garmin MFD

I am trying to see if I can connect my 2002 Merc 225 EFI to my Garmin 1242xsv.
My engine serial number is OT514257

I know that im likely going to need the gateway but i just want to know if it is possible.
Also do you know what it is able to display???

2002 is a Smart Craft engine, will need data cable to the helm, junction box, and a Mercury NMEA 2000 gateway connected to your NMEA network.
