Default Bennett Hydraulic to Bolt trim tabs

I recently purchased a 25ft Seacraft CC that has Bennett Hydraulic trim tabs mounted in a pocket with a cover plate. These tabs have a "fixed upper hinge 3 Ring actuator" or the short version of the Hydraulic actuators. I am looking to remove the hydraulic tabs and replace with new Electric versions that will auto retract. I've searched all over Bennett's site for information but saw that the Bolt Actuator is much longer and I simply don't have the option to raise the upper mounting point any higher being in a pocket. Bennett is close and I've had no luck with emails being answered for two weeks now. I contacted Lenco, and spoke to a technical assistant person that basically informed me that she didn't think their Actuator and tab set-up would work in my current application... So, I'm here looking for anyone that could lend some advice or experience with this type of upgrade... Thanks in advance for any information....

There is an auto-retract option for hydraulic tabs. I think this is what you need to retrofit, but defer to the experts/manual on that.

That's strange!!! I've never, ever had a problem with Bennett's customer service. However I did it the old fashioned way....I called them.

I switched from dual hydraulic rams to a single BOLT and the Bennett staff (by phone) was super helpful in answering my questions. Love the BOLTs and the great warranty they come with!

I've called several times over the past few weeks....closed due to the Panic-Demic... no options on the recorded message...

That doesn't do away with the bulky pump assembly under my console... and looks like it adds even more wiring to an already shabby looking wiring job, which is my winter project... But thanks for the feedback.

I’m not 100% sure on the length of actuator that you have now, but I went from Bennett hydraulic to the Bolt conversion kit. Everything fit perfectly and all I had to do was mount the small control box in place of the old hydraulic pump

I've helped on three Bolt installs, one new and two retro-fits, all were very easy and the installs were perfect fits as stated above!! Good luck!! If my 40+ year old Bennett hydraulics ever fail I'm doing the Bolts!!

Default Bennett Trim Tabs

Covid 19 has their customer service(phone) compromised. Bennett’s has a good product and normally their customer service is outstanding.
