Default Unacceptable Shipping Delay Boats.net

Last week I ordered yamaha parts thru boats.net. Given that thay say a 2-3 day delay due to COVID-19, I expected the order to ship no later than Friday. I received an email saying they will ship on Monday, I wait on Monday and no email regarding shipping, so I call Tuesday, they say it will ship on Tuesday and i will get an email regarding shipping info, Never got an email so i call them today and they say that they have no idea when they can ship the order even though they have all the parts in stock. I tried to call SIM and PartsVu, both their mailboxes are full and are not taking calls. I just ordered thru Crowley Marine, hopefelly they pull thru.

If Boats.net can't fullfill orders they should just say so and not waste peoples time.

Calm down cowboy...I hear your frustrations .I have dealt with this also.. As a national manager for a large company this is what we have had to deal with.
1. no more than 25% employees in factory and office at one time .
2. Customer Service being handled from remote locations at home.
3. Must report workers with Covid 19 . That area of the plant shuts down for 2-3 days for disinfecting before in can go back on line
4. We ship Fed-X and UPS...shipments take priority , essential first , non essential last...and boat parts are not essential .
I can go on and on but I hope you see with manufactures and suppliers are going through. We had to shut down till the state decided on a plan which was 25% workers on floor at any given time. We lost 7 days .
I am like you, want to get back to normal.

It's noticeable with several sites I have ordered from. Tough to be patient when you need something for a project at hand. Especially a boat project!

I wanted to order homebrewing supplies. Most sites say they have a 4 - 5 day order backlog.

With the ability now for retail pickup at the door in Michigan, I emailed my local store to see if I could order, wait 4-5 days, then come pick it up.

The answer - "we have 50 - 60% staffing, so not now. Maybe if staffing levels improve. We'll let everyone know by email."

I do have to say that the ability for human beings that want something to understand the inability for businesses to predict the future with ever changing rules and staffing is severely lacking. There is a pandemic you know.

been waiting since saturday, but oh well, least of the worries. I am working from home, can i expect more from another company that is "non essential". If you need asap, support your local "Stealers" and buy from them, they are still getting next or 2 day avail

It's not just you. I'm trying to keep my cool as well but it's frustrating as hell. I've hit a wall.

Can't be for lack of employees. I went to the facility where FedEx currently has my package (still wouldnt let me pick it up) and they were jumping. Parking lot slam full and even had rental trucks running packages as well. I think they are more overwhelmed with shipments more than lack of people.

shame of this is your local dealer may have the parts you need sitting on the shelf and you either cant get them or you just wanted to save some money

Ordered something online for Kitchen 4/20. Hit my CC via paypal. Finally today I put a dispute in and quickly got an answer from the supplier with a tracking Number. A followup email then asked since it was resolved remove paypal dispute. I read paypal policy sayng if I remove then no further action

I will wait until I receive what I ordered.

Other stuff ordered on amazon gives est ship dates so OK with those

My Brother is waiting on a Yamaha part (display) for his new engines-been over a week

I always find it funny when people who are budget first shoppers complain about customer service.

I needed some 4200, called my local guy told him I was coming, paid with a CC, and when I drove by he threw it in an open window. I never even put the car in park. Cost me $7 more then if I ordered from Walmart and waited 7-10 days.

Did the same with spark plugs yesterday. Happy to give the local business.

Don't get me wrong, I get we are in a crisis. Just don't lie to me. I have other sources for the same parts, so I'm pissed that they wasted my time, especially when I have a motor torn apart banking onthat I would actually get my parts. To me an answer saying "we don't know when we can ship them is unacceptable for any business. They are in the business of selling boat parts whether its a priority or not is irrelevant.

gameon im sure the last thing they want is an unhappy customer. i also assume a lot of their parts are dropped shipped. all reasons beyond their control.

The world in general is not functioning the way it did just a couple of short months ago. The sooner people understand and accept that the better off we'll all be.

I ordered a couple parts from Crowley Marine last week and they were on my porch within 3 days. Did not pay for expedited shipping, just regular ground.
