I have a pump below deck in a difficult accessible place. The clip has let go and I can barely reach to put it back. I think that this is a lousy system and wish we could just have screw in barbs like we used to. I have to put this back basically by feel as I can hardly see the connection. Any ideas on how too accomplish this? Also, I think they only work in one direction.......am I correct?
Thanks all for your help

The pump is fastened below the deck and the clip has to go where the fitting goes into the pump. I can do what you say but I have to unbolting;t the whole pump from down blow....even harder/ Is there a certain direction this clip goes?

What Shurflo pump do you have that uses those clips? The Pentair Shurflo website only shows the usual winged threaded connectors for marine FW system and washdown pumps, except some hose barbs on live well pumps and valves..
Are these the clips to which you refer? Shurflo Quick Connect Clips for Black Gas Pump They only seem to show those being used with beverage gas pumps.

Yes...those are the clips and it's the pro blaster. I have a pipe going from the fresh water tank to the pro blaster which is fastened to the top of the bilge compartment behind the tank. The clip let go last fall when I was winterizing and I didn't have the time to put it back. I have had issues like that before with these models as I have a few of them on the boat. It's just annoying to fasten them on and it's extremely hard in this location because it was hooked up before the pump was mounted. I noticed that it seems to go one way only. I suppose I will have to bite the bullet and try and fit in there or get a small person to do it for me.

Your Pro Blaster must be newer than mine with the threaded conections.
Do you think you could lightly tape or rubber band the clip to the pad of your index finger so the clip legs are hanging down towards the connector slot, then use your thumb and your "greetings" finger to push the hose connector sufficiently onto the pump fitting?
Then just push down on the clip to lock in place, and slide your index finger out along the hose?
