#1

hey guys had my total scan bracket break and ducer flew up and smashed on back of boat , I figure now is a good time for a through hull , curious what’s the best option for gen 3 and bottom fishing ??? Usually 80-180 ft I wanna read hard bottom for grouper and not while just at idle and superior definition please help me in the right direction !!! Small cone angle but curious as to which one you go with

Lowrance no longer gives cone angle specs, number of elements any more so unless you get a specific recomendation from someone, you'll have to go to the Airmar site to see that info, and the Airmar products are usually a lot more money.
I can recommend 2 transom mount Lowrance ducers that run around $225 that are fine up to 450 and 900 designed for your unit, but I believe the Airmar thru hull hull stuff like the B75M runs around $800. The also have an In hull that's equivalent to the B75M called a P75M, but I am not sure you have good access to your bilge or if your hull bottom is cored.

The LSS2 Transom mount or the HDI Skimmer in the 50/200 455/800 frequencies are the 2 transom mount transducers I would recommend if you want to save some dough. Much better performance than the 83//200 455/800 models that usually come standard.

I do not mind spending the money problem is currently I get a lot of wash out while under way prolly poor installation but when I run tabs all the way down I can’t see shit on bottom figured a through hull will allow me to read with tabs down . 800 not an issue I have tossed enough coin in this rig what’s another g

Hard to see the exact location o your mount but I run Elite7ti2's with the $239 skimmer and I can read bottom up to 750 at 30 mph and get great bait to large fish seperation slower on plane to 450'. I have mine mounted as deep as possible to eliminate bubble created farther forward, on the right hand side of my right turning prop.Even on 200 broadband they do ok imo. Sorry I don't have pics at speed, but here are some old one's on a gen 1 Elite 5 taken 4 years ago using the HDI Skimmer I mentioned. Fish are larger arches over bait near the bottom trying to hide near structure out while we drift and jig.
