I like the boat a lot. I’ve climbed over a few of them but never did water test. It’s a great family/fishing boat. The only drawback for me is I’m 5’9” and I can’t see the bow of the boat from the drivers seat. I don’t know why they made the console so high. I’m guessing you have to be 6’ tall to see over it.

I have a 2016 231 Coastal (Hybrid).

Absolutely love the boat. Tons of room, solid boat and very dry even in a decent chop.

only issue has been the staples used on the underside of the seats, (aft jump seats, fwd baitwell seat in front of console and bolster cushions around bow seating) were all regular steel and completely rusted. I had to remove them all, clean up and restaple with monel staples. May want to check on that.

I have a 2012 Nautic Star Nautic Bay 2110 and love it. Fish mostly coastal inshore around Grand Isle and have not been disappointed in the ride or shallow water access. The boat hull is pretty solid and have not had any issues with electrical or fiberglass.

I am on my 2nd Nauticstar. My first was a 2017 211 Angler. I put a nice Fishmaster ttop on it. Really enjoyed that boat with the family and decent fishing platform but wanted more of a deep vee, for a smoother ride, so I moved up to a 2302 Legacy and I absolutely love it. Great family and fishing boat. I have friends with all different quality known makes and models and I like my boat the best. These boats are legit, no issues to date (2016). No stress cracks anywhere in the gel coat and I get lots of compliments. The boat rides great in some decent chop and will go about 46-47 (Yami F200) on a nice flat day wide open. I use it mostly for fishing offshore and it fits the bill (all pads removed). I added some midship rod holders. Trailers easy (off and on easy-Continental trailer). I plan on keeping this boat for a very long time. Don’t listen to any “nay-sayers”. I’ve been boating my entire life, drove boats in the Marine Corps and these are great boats! Stole mine 2 years ago for around $45k, canvass top.

The majority of "fish & play" layouts are more play than fish, many are essentially deck/skiboats with a deck up front, a livewell somewhere and "called a fishin boat" and of course they suck at fishn!

But I REALLY like the layout of the NS 231 and 251 Hybrids! My 2 best fishin buds and I looked one over at the Biloxi show lastyear, one of my best buds just built a house in Gulfshores and the 231 is what he's going to order nextyear. The bow seating and drop table for fishing deck space plus the nose deck is really a great feature for serious fishing with 3-4+ anglers aboard yet still has a great layout for the girls come family time. Over the last 5yrs NS has made LEAPS AND BOUNDS in their overall quality from layup to materials and components. (They were bought by Mastercraft in late 2017) They are a solid "mid-tier" boat mfgr now.

If my wife ever sees or gets aboard a 251 I might be in trouble, she'd flip and DEMAND one for our time at our place in FL and honestly I wouldn't mind having one down there. It's strict fishing trips in AL, LA and my bass fishing here in TN that dictates my wanting a strict bayboat layout otherwise!

Default I just signed the line for a 251

I just signed the line for a 2020 251 with atlas jack plate, 12” simrad, 10’ power pole, has the Yamaha 300 white with Carolina blue. We got a hell of a deal at $85k plus taxes and came out to $91k we have been eye balling the 231 for a couple years and really liked the 251 but then decided we wanted a deeper hull. So we placed a deposit on a Sea Hunt 235se but I knew we would want something bigger and this boat was in play last month for $95k trying to close out the 2020 models and then literally 2 days before we were going to finalize the sea hunt a new sales guy called me and said he read all of our emails and if I wanted the boat it’s our for $85k so I sent a deposit ASAP and went Friday and water tested it and it was very windy and pretty good chop and the wife sat up on the bow and never got a drop of water on it and barely given it throttle we cruised at 38 and rode awesome so we pick it up on the 25th. The only thing I wish it came with was the ski tow bar the dealer says NauticStar factory wants $1800 and I can’t justify that so I’ll look for an aftermarket pole.

I am looking at getting a 251 Hybrid. I have a 2400 Blue Wave pure bay right now. Kids are at the age were friends want to go out and not enough seating on the
BlueWave. How do you like the NauticStar? Have you had it out with 6-8 people? If so, how was the ride. Any options you wish you would of got that you didn't and what ones are you glad you got. Last, you said you paid 85,000 with trailer plus tax. What options were on the boat? Thank you in advance for any help.
