Default Lamar 500 Windlass questions/install

I bought a used Lamar 500 windlass (mainly so my wife doesn't have to pull up the anchor any more) but I don't know anything about them. I know this is not the freefall version and I am ok with that for now.
1)What I don't know is what kinda rope and chain I can use. I have 2) 100' ropes pictured and about 5 foot of chain also pictured.
2)Will the loops on the end of the ropes cause issues?
3)Can I join my two ropes some how (weaving them together or some kinda coupler) and still be able to go through the windlass with out an issue?
4)When the anchor comes up and it stored in the guide the chain will be in the windlass so the connections will have to go through the windlass are these going to be a problem? Loop on rope and clevises.
5)I was thinking about installing the windlass in the anchor locker on an angle upward (maybe 25 degrees or less upward) the rope/chain will go to a roller on the deck the flat out to the anchor guide/roller. As long as the rope goes straight and level into the windlass I am ok right?

My plan was to build a shelf high up in the anchor locker to mount the windlass on. Cut an opening at the front of the anchor locker for the rope and chain to pass through. Put a roller on the deck to keep the chain and rope from dragging on it. Then mount an anchor guide and roller right at the bow of the boat. See an issues with my plan?

Thanks in advance THT for answering my questions.

The roller/anchor guide idea should work. You have to find out exactly what type of rope/chain your windlass is intended for. It won't work well unless you get the exact right size. You should be able to look up the model number on Lewmar's website to see what size of rope and chain it takes. I would not recommend joining two ropes together. Even if it mostly works there will be times where it bunches up or doesn't go through the windlass right.

So if I am reading this right 1/4" chain and 1/2" rope but it doesn't say anything about the loop on the rope and the clevis to join the anchor.

You need a rode where the chain is spliced to the rope so it can pass through the windlass.

To join both ropes together you need to do a long splice so it will pass through

Chain to rope

Curious what type of boat and anchoring for fishing or beaching? I have the same issue and interested in your end result.

Just to add. You need to make sure anchor locker will be large enough for all of this

Minimum drop is key for proper operation. Check specs and measure before you install.

Im assuming you mean a Lewmar? Can you post a picture of the windlass? I have a Horizon 600 and if its similar to mine you may not be able to sit in the locker and angle it as the rode, drops out the bottom. Assuming that yours is similar to mine, that spliced loop would need to be replaced with a splice directly between the chain and rode. Otherwise, it wont go over the teeth on the drum, and most likely pass thru the deck hole.
