Default ??Boot Stripe Or No Boot Stripe??

So I will be finishing up the bottom paint removal and gelcoat restoration on my 2001 25 Open. Within the next week I will finish a few small gelcoat repairs, the final 1200 grit wet sanding then polishing the hull. So the big question now is boot stripe or not? I am on the fence but like the clean look with no boot stripe. There is a slight color change where the old boot stripe protected the gelcoat and the sun faded gelcoat above. Wet sanding helps a little with the blending but there is a difference in color. Let me know what you think.

With bottom paint original Boot stripe.

With boot stripe removed. as it sits now.

Not to derail your thread about the boot stripe but tell us about your bottom restoration. That looks great!

Yea the bottom came out awesome! I would do the contrasting stripe if you are planning to paint the bottom.

The bottom will remain gelcoat as it is in great shape. I will be doing a few small gelcoat repairs then the final 1220grit wet sand and last polishing and waxing the entire hull.

I hate boot stripes but when I did a similar project on my boat the color fade on the hull was too distinctive than where the boot stripes used to be, so to my dismay, I put another boot stripe on. If you can make it match, I vote no boot stripe

I vote boot stripe, but like some of the others, I am more old school and traditional.

I just removed mine last week so you know my vote.
