Default Regulator 28 Updates over the years

I *believe* Regulator came our with this model in 2010 or 2011.

I am in the market for a used 28, and am interested in significant upgrades that have been added over the intervening model years.

Thanks!

The website says since 2011 and shows present features if that helps at all.

I't think your best bet for breakdown of year by year possible changes /improvements would be to contact them directly.

Looking at the same boat and it appears the biggest changes over the years are seating/comfort related. Go on boat trader and look at various years and you can see the changes. Appears the earlier models did not have arm rests on on the cooler and console seats and this has been added over the years. The newer ones have folding arm rests and these are really nice. Also, the newer Regs have the forward seating tilt option versus the older models have an insert for a back rest on the forward seats (also a very nice upgrade). Older models have a console table up front that has a cushion, which I love, and this appears to not be an option on the newer 28's. You'll also see changes over the years re: how the electronics are mounted and the new ones are all flush mounted.

We're going through buying new versus used and I'm leaning towards a 2020 because I think the glass enclosure and all the folding arm rests are that nice and I'm willing to pay a premium. Also, the black flush mounted electronics is super cool. The 2019 model does not have the glass enclosure.

I'm sure you can call Reg or just go on boat trader and look at pictures. I don't think there are any major changes, but I don't know for sure.

I just sold a 2019, over priced imo.

What did you replace it with, and why do you think overpriced?

YF, the finishes are not up to par IMO. I felt like I was ripping the guy off who bought it and he was pretty happy with the price. Going off their old reputation (they are not the only ones)

I guess I must have been sucked in by their old reputation...

Not getting defensive as an owner and of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, just having a hard time finding negative in the “fit and finish” of their current offerings. Now their lack of power options - both manufacturers and low power/performance - I can get on board with!
