Default Twin yamahas out of sync rpm fix?

Have twin 2005 115 Yamaha 4 stroke outboards on a boat. At full throttle they run the same rpm, but at cruising and slow speeds they are off 400-500 rpm off one another at even throttle positioning. Is this a problem with a cable adjustment? Thanks in advance

Very common, and quite normal, you can sometimes fiddle around and get them closer, but it's easier to just have the throttle levers set slightly out of line, it doesn't hurt and it's not difficult.

I had this problem on my old F250's and just had to live with it. One of the nicest things about the new digital FBW motors is they auto sync as long as the two throttle levers are even close.

Seems odd they run same wide open rpm but off 500 at other speeds. Mine were off at all speeds on plane but the lower turning starboard motor also burned 10 percent more fuel so was working harder. Likely attributed to balance between prop pitch.

Yea that's why I thought it was a cable adjustment
