Default There's your problem right there Hoss

Last few trips, I have been noticing the heat creeping up and a bit more smoke if I was idle or putsing around real slow. It's fine when I am up on plane, so I figure a fin or two went bad on the impeller. I usually do these about every 2 years and I'm due anyway.

But this is a new one for me.... It looks like part of the housing melted and and is partially blocking the water flow. I don't recall ever turning it over dry...

Is it sealant or grease?
grease holds it together for assembly, sealant to hold o-ring in.

If melted the plastic, cant imagine impeller fared well.

Poor aftermarket possibly?

In 40 yrs of changing mine....never seen that
