Default Faded gelcoat after polishing? (Help)

There was a pretty bad and undesirable water stain under a through-hull drain. The stain was on the gelcoat. I decided to use meguiars marine polish with a meguiars foam pad. The stain is gone, but now the gelcoat looks faded. You can obviously see in the pics under the drain where I polished away the water stain. How do I get my nice white shine back? If you want pictures I will be happy to send them.

There is a cleaner wax that does both. Has a fine grit with wax sobits a one step process. Either way like said before, wax it. If it's not enough then you might need to buff.

Hard to say without seeing pics. Is it oxidation that is giving it the faded look? If so you may need to use a more aggressive compound then polish and wax.
