You might want to consider elevation marine. They are out of Ocala, FL. I had the flip cooler seat and did not like it at all and I ordered one from them last year, it was easy to install, is rock solid, and looks great on my Key West 186BR. Below is what I ordered, built to my specs and delivered to my door within two weeks for $612.00. Hope this helps you out.36" wide leaning post, 32" tall (top of cushion), smooth vinyl, bone/sand dune with horizontal pattern similar to existing seat. add under seat storage tray and cooler strap. folding footrest and shipping is included.

I took out the captain's chairs in my Cape Horn 17and replaced it with a leaning post from Cutting Edge. They had several compact ones to choose from. They were great to deal with and put it on a bus for me. I installed it and have been nothing but delighted with it and the decision to remove the chairs.

This is coming out of my boat and I will sell. The grab rail and legs were just stripped and powder coated a few months ago. It is in great condition. I ordered a custom seat which is why I am selling this. Frigid Rigid not included.

I’ve been searching lately for a compact one too. That elevation marine one looks like the best design and most included in the 600-700 price range.

I cant really help you then as I know of a couple great places in Florida. You could ask Bob at Tuckerton marine if he has anything laying around. He does a lot of boat work. You could also ask Violet at Chestnut Neck.

That's the one I got. The one with the four rod holders on the back. I put a couple of "tubes" in the splash well behind the rear compartments so that while running and standing anyone sitting in the back can have something to lean back on. With it removed you can sit on the sear facing rearward if you straddle the rod holders, but it is NOT uncomfortable. I forget what size or width I ordered but they were very helpful taking measurements for me to make sure my Coleman ice chest would fit between the two legs. It fits perfectly. The only difficulty is that I have to pull the ice chest almost completely out to open the lid to put in fish or take anything out. I don't remember if the knife/pliers holder came with it or if I added it. My biggest concern was how far behind the console to mount it.

There is one on sale at my local marine part supplier. 1100$ brand new it's on sale for 700$ been there for a while. It has the rod holders and back rest. My only concern is spacing on a smaller boat.

For the same money I recommend the one that fits the best. Don't settle.

Looks like deronlee's custom leaning post for that price is the way to go. I would certainly sketch out your dream leaning post take some dimensions and send it to that company and see where they price it at. If they build a quality product, I don't see how anyone could argue with custom design leaning post built to your liking at a competitive price.

Got a 18' boat, put in a leaning post designed to my specs. Kinda used Birdsalls design to fit deck area.
With space at a premium in the stern area, no way was a backrest and rod holders going to fit on it. Was going to be cramped, no room to move around.
