I believe Gulfstream routinely does test flights in that area.

Come home boys! Bullrun - my thoughts are with you!

This thread should have been limited to updates from Bullrun, actual CG communication and well wishes. What’s gone on here at times is a stain on the entire THT community. That fact that this nonsense was allowed to continue unchecked given the gravity of the situation is a head scratcher.

I thought the boat was found initially on the Bahamas Bank north of West End and anchored there by the CG? For some reason the hull was lost before it was recovered and found again months later near Bermuda.

The hull contained their cell phones which did provide some clues, namely that the two boys were actually headed to the Bahamas and not just fishing near shore. I forget the specifics of whether the CG pieced that together during the search itself by interviewing their friends from school or if it only came out later when their phones were recovered. I do remember their friends stating they received a Snapchat message to the effect of "peace out Jupiter" from which was implied they were going to the Bahamas.

Can you all please stop discussing other instances of missing boaters? It is just confusing people following this thread.

Guys, not to be rude, can we limit the discussion to THIS issue, not past ones? hard to tell what boating accident people are discussing.

Again, not trying to be rude, but we all want to know about this one... suggest discussion on other past issues get a new thread.

Carry on fine gents

out of Port Canaveral, bout 180-240ft is where you'll typically hit the stream depending on which direction you headed out. It's also roughly 27-30nm due east from the mouth of Canaveral on average.

I don't see any evidence that they're searching. Those planes fly similar routes quite often if you look up their flight history.

Okay guys, let's not relive the past incident. Let's hope and pray that by some miracle they are found. This is about two fireman who went out and something happened where they were unable to come home. Let's all just take a deep breath and stop all the speculation and hopefully we will get some good news for us and for the families.

boeing and gulf stream have manufactuing plants in Charleston and savannah respectively and conduct test flights every day over the ocean out the way of commercial traffic and that is what you are seeing - sorry.

the Ga DNR plane did a grid pattern yesterday - someone posted here - that was a search.
